Abstract:
The invention relates to an electromechanical swing leaf operator having a door closer (1) with an eccentrically supported pinion (6) that presents a circular rolling curve and meshes with a toothed rack (5) being disposed at a piston (4), whereby a particular execution of the rolling curve and of the teeth (9) of the toothed rack (5) in adaptation to a toothing of the pinion (6) is achieved. With the intention to realize an optimized moving course of the piston (4) in the housing (2) of the door closer (1) an improved execution of the delayed closing operation is provided.
Abstract:
A lock latch mechanism disposed within a powered locking device of a transit vehicle door system for maintaining a lock lever in an unlock position without the aid of the lock actuator. The lock latch mechanism includes a lock latch lever biased for engagement with an unlock cam through the use of a bias spring. The lock latch mechanism further includes a reset lever assembly engaging such lock latch lever during the door closing motion to allow movement of the lock lever form such unlocking position into such locking position to maintain at least one door of the transit vehicle in the fully closed and lock position. A manual release lever is provided to move the lock lever from such locking position into such unlocking position enabling the lock latch mechanism to maintain the lock lever in such unlocked position.
Abstract:
A method of fabricating a vehicle door includes providing a lower door structure, providing an upper door structure having a pair of spaced apart frame rails, installing a window member between the frame rails, installing a window regulator to the window member and the upper door structure, and coupling the lower and upper door structures to one another. The window regulator may include a powered lead screw regulator, a rack and pinion regulator or a cable and drum regulator.
Abstract:
A door assembly includes a simple and compact mount for attaching a power or manual window drive mechanism within a door module. The drive mechanism can be removed from a door panel without having to remove the driven mechanism that lowers and raises the window. The drive mechanism is positioned on one side of the panel and the driven mechanism is positioned on an opposite side of the panel from the drive mechanism. A retaining assembly retains the driven and drive mechanisms to the panel such that the drive mechanism can be selectively detached from the panel without detaching the driven mechanism from the panel.
Abstract:
A vehicle door cinching apparatus for assisting the final closing motion of a sliding vehicle door includes an electromagnet, a ferrous metal plate, a cinch drive and a controller. The electromagnet mounts on either an outer periphery of a vehicle sliding door or an inner periphery of a vehicle sliding door frame that's shaped to receive the sliding door as the door moves along a final inward cinching portion of a door path to a final closed position within the door frame. The plate is supported on the other of the outer periphery of the door and the inner periphery of the door frame in a position where the plate can magnetically engage the electromagnet when the door is disposed along the final cinching portion of the door path. Whichever of the plate and electromagnet is supported on the inner periphery of the door frame is also supported for lateral movement in a direction generally parallel to the cinching portion of the door path. According to the method, the cinch drive moves whichever of the electromagnet and plate is supported on the inner periphery of the door frame to drive the door along the final cinching portion of the door path and into the final closed position. The controller de-energizes the electromagnet and releases the door from the cinching apparatus once the door has reached its final closed position.
Abstract:
A door locking mechanism for deadlocking a door. The door locking mechanism includes a lockhead member which includes a door stopping portion. The lockhead member is moveable from a locked position, wherein the door is double deadlocked, and an unlocked position. A vertical locking mechanism is coupled to the lockhead member, and the vertical locking mechanism deadlocks the door when the lockhead member is in the locked position. The door stopping portion of the lockhead member also deadlocks door when the lockhead member is in the locked position. A carriage assembly is engaged with the door, and the carriage assembly is engageable with the door stopping portion and moves the lockhead member from the locked position to the unlocked position. The vertical locking mechanism disengages the door when the lockhead member is in the unlocked position and the door stopping portion of the lockhead member also disengages the door.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to automatic door assemblies and swing operators therefor. One aspect of the invention provides a swing door operator that has an opening in the housing thereof for easy access to the operator motor. Another aspect of the invention provides a method for servicing a door operator. Another aspect of the invention provides a door operator with a spring force adjusting member that moves in the generally longitudinal direction of the spring structure. Another aspect of the invention provides a method for adjusting the spring force of the spring structure in a door operator. Another aspect of the invention provides a swing door operator with an adjustable stop member.
Abstract:
A system for raising and lowering a sectional overhead door between an open position and a closed position including, a counterbalance system adapted to be connected to the door, an operator motor assembly mounted proximate to the sectional overhead door in the closed position of the sectional overhead door, at least a portion of the operator motor assembly movable between a door operating position and a door locking position, and a locking assembly (370) having an engaged position to hold the motor assembly in the operating position and a disengaged position to release the motor assembly allowing it to move to the door locking position. The system may be provided with a remote light assembly having a switchable light source in sensing communication with the operator motor such that operation of the motor activates the light source. The system is further provided with a handle assembly (515) operatively engaging the motor assembly (40) and counterbalance system (30) to selectively disconnect the motor assembly (40) from the counterbalance system (30), whereby urging of a rotatable handle (516) to a disconnect position (516′) allows the door (D) to be manually freely moveable with the aid of the counterbalance system (30).
Abstract:
An operator (10,210) for moving in upward and downward directions a sectional door (D) having a counterbalancing system (30) including a drive tube (31) interconnected with the door comprising, a reversible motor (41), a drive gear (52) selectively driven in two directions by the motor, a driven gear (54) freely rotatably mounted on the drive tube and engaging the drive gear, a slide guide (56) non-rotatably mounted on the drive tube, a disconnect (70) mounted on the slide guide and selectively movable between a first position rotatably connecting the driven gear and the slide guide and a second position disconnecting the drive gear and the slide guide, and an actuator (80) for selectively moving the disconnect between the first position and the second position.
Abstract:
A power liftgate assembly is disclosed for moving a liftgate between an open position and a closed position. The liftgate is secured to a motor vehicle having a roof. The power liftgate assembly includes an elongated bracket that is fixedly secured to the roof of the motor vehicle. The elongated bracket extends between first and second ends. A motor is fixedly secured to the elongated bracket. A slide operatively engages the motor. The slide moves along the elongated bracket. An articulated bracket is connected to the slide and moves with the slide. The articulated bracket includes a slot that extends therealong to provide lost motion between the articulated bracket and the slide. An arcuate bracket extends between the articulated bracket and the liftgate for receiving the motion of the articulated bracket and for moving the liftgate in response thereto.
