Abstract: The submarine is equipped with a fluid gas pressure container, in particular for storing liquid oxygen. The liquid gas pressure container is arranged within the pressure hull of the submarine and is surrounded by an outer pressure container which is likewise stored within the pressure hull of the submarine. A device is provided which on exceeding a predefined pressure within one pressure container leads fluid from the pressure container out of the pressure hull.

Abstract: A manway cover assembly for a railroad tank car. The manway cover assembly is moveable between a closed position in covering relationship with a manway nozzle and an open position that permits access into the tank car. The manway cover assembly includes a manway cover having a generally inwardly convex central portion and a generally flat outer annular portion having an inwardly facing recess formed therein for receipt of an upper edge of the manway nozzle. A generally flat round weather shield member is attached to the outer ring member in covering relationships with the central inwardly convex portion of the manway cover member.

Abstract: This invention is a cryogenic fluid transportation and supply system and method for transporting the cryogenic fluid in a liquefied state and alternatively offloading the cryogenic fluid as compressed gas and liquid. The system includes a mobile support means, and a cryogenic storage vessel for storing the cryogenic fluid as liquid. To deliver the cryogenic fluid as compressed gas, the system includes a piston-type pump, a heat exchanger, a compressed gas conduit and a compressed gas connection fitting. To deliver the cryogenic fluid as liquid, the system includes a liquid line in communication with the cryogenic storage vessel and a liquid cryogenic fluid connection fitting. An internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle used for moving the mobile support means may power the pump and an optional fan for the heat exchanger. A hydraulic system may be used to transfer the power between the internal combustion engine and the pump.

Abstract: A liquified gas delivery system for a motorized platform includes a holding tank configured to receive liquified gas. A first conduit extends from a vapor holding portion of the tank to a valve device. A second conduit extends from a liquid holding portion of the tank to the valve device. Fluid coupled to the valve device is a vaporizer which is in communication with an engine. The valve device selectively withdraws either liquified gas or liquified gas vapor from the tank depending on the pressure within the vapor holding portion of the tank. Various configurations of the delivery system can be utilized for pressurizing the tank during operation.

The first and second concavities are sufficiently aligned such that a tank is at least partially containable within both the first and second concavities. Abstract: Substantially rectangular-shaped tanks are provided for storing liquefied gas, which tanks are especially adapted for use on land or in combination with bottom-supported offshore structure such as gravity-based structures (GBS). A tank according to this invention is capable of storing fluids at substantially atmospheric pressure and has a plate cover adapted to contain fluids and to transfer local loads caused by contact of said plate cover with said contained fluids to a grillage of stiffeners and stringers, which in turn is adapted to transfer the local loads to an internal truss frame structure. Methods of constructing these tanks are also provided.

Abstract: The methods and apparatus for transporting compressed gas includes a gas storage system having a plurality of pipes connected by a manifold whereby the gas storage system is designed to operate in the range of the optimum compressibility factor for a given composition of gas. The pipe for the gas storage system is preferably large diameter pipe made of a high strength material whereby a low temperature is selected which can be withstood by the material of the pipe. Knowing the compressibility factor of the gas, the temperature, and the diameter of the pipe, the wall thickness of the pipe is calculated for the pressure range of the gas at the selected temperature. The gas storage system may either be modular or be part of the structure of a vehicle for transporting the gas. The gas storage system further includes enclosing the pipes in an enclosure having a nitrogen atmosphere. A displacement fluid may be used to offload the gas from the gas storage system. A vehicle with the gas storage system designed for a particular composition gas produced at a given location is used to transport gas from that producing location to a receiving station miles from the producing location.
