Abstract:
In a position measuring apparatus, a correspondence point detector detects, for each set of images at a respective one of time instants, correspondence points from the respective images of the set, where the correspondence points are points on respective image planes representing the same three-dimensional position. A projection point calculator calculates a projection point of each of the correspondence points detected at the respective time instants onto each of a plurality of common planes set at different depthwise positions in a world coordinate system using preset camera parameters. A reconstruction point calculator calculates a point at which distances to a plurality of rays each connecting the projection points of the correspondence point on a respective one of the image planes onto the plurality of common planes are minimized, as a reconstruction point representing a three-dimensional position of the correspondence point.

A method of producing hexagonal plate-like zinc oxide particles having a sharp particle size distribution (i.e., a relatively uniform particle size) at a high weight yield and a high percent yield is provided. The method of producing hexagonal plate-like zinc oxide particles of the present invention comprises mixing by stirring an aqueous hexamethylenetetramine (HMT) solution, a solution of an anionic surfactant in a water-insoluble organic solvent, and optionally water to form a microemulsion containing an aqueous phase of an aqueous hexamethylenetetramine solution having a molar concentration of 0.05 M or more; dropwise adding an aqueous zinc salt solution to the microemulsion; and heating the microemulsion containing the aqueous zinc salt solution to a reaction temperature of 80° C. or more without using any autoclave to form hexagonal plate-like zinc oxide particles.
Abstract:
A guided bone regeneration material is disclosed. The guided bone regeneration material includes biodegradable fibers produced by an electrospinning method. The biodegradable fibers produced by the method include a silicon-releasing calcium carbonate and a biodegradable polymer. The silicon-releasing calcium carbonate is a composite of siloxane and calcium carbonate of vaterite phase. The biodegradable fibers may be coated with apatite. When the guided bone regeneration material is immersed in a neutral aqueous solution, silicon species ions are eluted from the calcium carbonate. The guided bone regeneration material excels in bone reconstruction ability.
Abstract:
A position measuring apparatus detects, from respective first and second imaging planes of first and second captured images, first and second corresponding points estimated to represent a common three-dimensional position. The apparatus calculates first to fourth projected points. Each of the first and second projected points represents a projected point of the first corresponding point on a corresponding one of the first and second common planes. Each of the third and fourth projected points represents a projected point of the second corresponding point on a corresponding one of the first and second common planes. The apparatus calculates a first beam connecting the first and second projected points, a second beam connecting the third and fourth projected points, and a point having a minimum square distance relative to each of the first and second beams as a restored point representing the three-dimensional position of the first and second corresponding points.

A method for producing a flocculent three dimensional fibrous bioactive material using an electrospinning process includes electrospinning a biodegradable fiber by applying an electrical charge to a nozzle of an electrospinning apparatus such that a spinning solution contained therein is made into an electrospun fiber, which is attracted toward a collector container that is electrically grounded and is filled with an ethanol liquid; receiving the electrospun fiber emitted from the nozzle on a surface of the ethanol liquid in the collector container; recovering and drying the electrospun fiber to obtain the flocculent three dimensional fibrous bioactive material having a bulk density of from about 0.01 g/cm3 to about 0.1 g/cm3 as measured in accordance with JIS L 1097.

Abstract:
A control system calculates inputs to a control target that has m inputs and n outputs (m=n, each of m and n is a natural number that is more than one), while designating a plurality of combinations of the inputs and the outputs. A feedback controller calculates, with respect to each designated combination, a control input to a non-interference controller based on a difference between a target value and a current value of the control quantity to make the current value follow the target value. The non-interference controller executes, with respect to each designated combination, a non-interference control to reduce influence due to mutual interference between n control quantities. This reduces the number of combinations of the inputs and the outputs, the combinations whose mutual interference needs considering; thereby, the non-interference control may be easily achieved.

A walking assistance device includes a waist wearing belt, a thigh link portion, a lower leg link portion, a lower leg wearing portion mounted on the lower leg link portion, a waist joint portion configured to hold an upper end portion of the thigh link portion so that the thigh link portion swings and the waist joint portion being mounted on the waist wearing belt, and a knee joint portion configured to connect the thigh link portion and the lower leg link portion so that the thigh link portion and the lower leg link portion swing. The thigh link portion and the lower leg link portion have rigidity that is greater in the front-rear direction and an up-down direction than in a right-left direction so as to be elastically twisted around an axis along an elongated direction.
Abstract:
Cerebral blood flow data during cognitive task execution is measured using a functional near infrared spectroscopy method, then characteristic amount extraction is performed after performing primitive analysis on the measured cerebral blood flow data. Then, by using the extracted characteristic amounts and a pre-built model for employing in determination of cognitive impairment, automatic determination is made into clinical diagnostic groups of normal (NC), mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). It is thereby possible to perform cognitive impairment determination that is suitable for mass early stage screening of elderly people.
