摘要: The driving voltages for monochromatic images are sequentially applied to each of a plurality of pixels included in the display unit so as to cause each of the pixels to sequentially display the monochromatic images. A time-sequential arrangement of the driving voltages for the 2s (s is an integer equal to or larger than 2) monochromatic images that include the three primary colors of red, blue, and green is employed as one unit. Then, the one unit of arrangement of the driving voltages is sequentially applied periodically to each of the pixels included in the display unit so as to cause each of the pixels to sequentially display the monochromatic images arranged in accordance with the arrangement, wherein a color of the monochromatic image is any one of the three primary colors of red, blue, and green, each of the pixels included in the display unit being caused to display the monochromatic image at one point in time.

摘要: Eliminating differences in cell gap of a liquid crystal panel is effected to prevent display irregularities while avoiding contamination of the liquid crystal material due to unwanted contact of a seal material with the liquid crystal material. To this end, the liquid crystal panel includes a first substrate DSUB having multiple pixel electrodes AL-P in the form of a matrix, a second substrate USUB opposing the first substrate with a specified gap therebetween and having one or more transparent electrodes ITO-C, a liquid crystal layer LC made of a liquid crystal material sealed in the gap between the opposing substrates, and an alignment film on at least one of inner surfaces of the first and second substrates in contact with the liquid crystal layer for controlling alignment of the liquid crystal material. A plurality of pole-like spacers SPC-P are provided in a display area of the first substrate DSUB for retaining the gap between the first and second substrates DSUB, USUB at a predefined value while providing a band or strip-like spacer SPC-S that is made of the same material as that of the pole-like spacers and is formed to surround the display area and also has a width greater than the diameter of the pole spacers along with a sealing material SL filled along the outer edges of the strip spacer SPC-S for allowing the first substrate DSUB and the second substrate USUB to be tightly bonded together.

摘要: A liquid crystal display apparatus has horizontal and vertical scanning circuits for scanning an array of pixels. An image signal applied to an image signal supply circuit in the form of series of pixel signals is transferred to pixels in the array of pixels designated by the horizontal and vertical scanning circuits. Each of the horizontal and vertical scanning circuits have a series connection of bidirectional shift register stages and are capable of bidirectional scanning. Each of the bidirectional shift register stages includes a pair of latches connected in tandem and is capable of providing an intermediate output and a shift register stage output. The pair of latches of each of the bidirectional shift register stages except those located at both ends of the series connection have respective intermediate and bidirectional shift register stage outputs contributing to designation of pixels to which pixel signals are to be supplied, while the pair of latches of the shift register stages located at each end of the series connection have their bidirectional shift register stage outputs contributing to such designation of pixels and their intermediate output terminals not contributing to such designation of pixels.

摘要: A noise reduction circuit receives a periodic signal from an imaging device, and includes first and second circuits in which noise components opposite in phase are offset by delaying the input signal to produce a delayed signal and adding the delayed signal and the input signal. The output of the first circuit is supplied to a low pass filter, while the output of the second circuit is integrated through a first high-pass filter for a time wherein an output signal representing the sum of the input signal and the delayed signal is generated and is then outputted through a second high pass filter. Output signals of the low-pass filter and the second high-pass filter are then added and the result is outputted as a signal free noise.

摘要: Disclosed is a solid-state imaging device wherein optical information of a number of photo-electric conversion elements arranged in a matrix is read into vertical signal lines by a vertical shift register and then the optical information on the vertical signal lines is horizontally scanned by a horizontal register of a charge transfer device. Bias charge storage means and quasi-signal sweep-out drains are disposed between the horizontal register and the vertical signal lines, and a bias charge input means is arranged in the horizontal register. In order to ensure high efficiency in transferring signals between the vertical lines to the storage means, the sweep-out drains and the charge transfer device, it is arranged for bias charges to be provided at each stage of transfer. Thus, bias charges supplied from the storage means are used to transfer charges from the vertical lines to the storage means. Similarly bias charges directly injected from the quasi-signal sweep-out drains are used to sweep out quasi-signals from the storage means to the quasi-signal sweep-out drains. Finally bias charges supplied from the bias charge input means of the charge transfer device are used to read signals from the storage means into the charge transfer device. By virtue of this, the sweep-out efficiency of the quasi-signals from the capacitances which supply the bias charges and a read-out efficiency of the signal charges are enhanced and a high quality of video signal is produced.

摘要: A solid-state imaging device is provided which employs CCDs as vertical shift registers and a horizontal shift register for vertically and horizontally scanning and reading out a large number of photoelectric elements arrayed in a two-dimensional plane. The imaging device is characterized in that the photoelectric elements of each column arranged between the vertical shift registers are alternately connected to the right and left vertical shift registers. This results in the resolution of the device being enhanced sharply.
