摘要： As novel compounds which possess a chymase-inhibiting activity and are useful as medicines for a variety of applications, there are provided SF2809-I substance, SF2809-II substance, SF2809-III substance, SF2809-IV substance, SF2809-V substance and SF2809-VI substance which are represented by the following general formula (VII) wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom, phenyl group or p-hydroxyphenyl group, and R2 is acetylamino group —NHCOCH3 or hydroxyl group, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, and which possess the chymase-inhibiting activity. Also provided is a process for the preparation of the above SF2809 substances, as well as a pharmaceutical composition comprising one of those substances.

A liquid crystal panel has a pair of substrates SUB1, SUB2 sandwiching a liquid crystal layer LC, at least one of the substrates having electrodes DTM for selecting pixels, polarizing plates POL1, POL2 disposed on both sides of the liquid crystal panel to control the transmitted light depending on the state of orientation of liquid crystal molecules by applying a voltage to the electrodes, illumination means BL for illuminating the liquid crystal panel, a driving circuit for applying a voltage in accordance with a display image to the electrodes, and birefringent sheet PDS formed on the outer surface of one of the pair of substrates SUB1 and SUB2 such that the direction of the maximum contrast or luminance becomes the vertical direction and such that viewing angle characteristics become symmetric in the horizontal direction, wherein the liquid crystal layer LC is oriented such that the transmittances of the liquid crystal panel in use in the vertical direction and horizontal direction have asymmetric viewing angle dependence and such that the direction of the maximum contrast or luminance is a direction different from either of the vertical and horizontal directions.

摘要： A rolling mill comprises a pair of crown work rolls each having, at both ends of a drum, tapered ends ground at different taper angles, respectively. The work rolls are located one above the other with one tapered end of one work roll being in opposition to one tapered end having a different taper angle of the other work roll. The work rolls are movable in axial directions, such that edges of the plates are rolled by one tapered end of one work roll and a drum of the other work roll, and between tapered ends of both the work rolls. The method and rolling mills are capable of controlling the crown and edge drop reduction and simultaneously preventing local protrusions such as high spots and edge built-up to produce flat rolled plates having no difference in thickness and further capable of controlling the crown and the edge drop according to the material, thickness and width of the plates.

By virtue of the installation of the auxiliary rolls, the phenomenon of wrinkling or buckling in the steel strip can be effectively prevented without causing meandering and the effect is more remarkable when specific relationships are held among the values of the diameters of the hearth roll and auxiliary roll and the position of the auxiliary roll relative to the hearth roll.
