摘要: The fuel injection apparatus has a high-pressure pump that supplies fuel at least indirectly to at least one injection point associated with at least one cylinder of the engine. The high-pressure pump is preceded by a fuel filter, which filters out impurities from the fuel and separates out free-floating water and/or emulsified water contained in the fuel. Free-floating and/or emulsified water separated out by the fuel filter is at least indirectly supplied to the combustion chamber of the at least one cylinder of the engine.

摘要: In a method and an apparatus for operating an injection system of an internal combustion engine, triggering of an injection actuator being performed on the basis of at least one state variable of the injection system, in order to enhance the quantitative accuracy with which fuel is metered provision is made that the at least one state variable is sensed and temporarily stored; the at least one injection actuator is triggered with a triggering pulse of definable pulse duration and definable initial pulse height; during the triggering of the at least one injection actuator, an injection detection is performed; the pulse height of the triggering pulse is incremented in definable steps, at the defined pulse duration, until an injection is detected; and when an injection is detected, the pulse height of the triggering pulse causing the injection is permanently stored as a function of the sensed state variable, and in future operation of the injection system is taken as the basis for triggering the at least one injection actuator.

摘要: A valve (1) for regulating fluids has a piezoelectric unit (4) for actuating a valve member (3). The valve member is embodied with a control piston (9), adjacent to the piezoelectric unit (4), and with at least one actuating piston (14), adjacent to a valve closing member (15). A hydraulic chamber (16) functioning as a hydraulic booster is disposed between the pistons (9, 14). The valve closing member (15) cooperates with at least one valve seat (18, 19) and divides a low-pressure region (20) from a high-pressure region (21). An electric control unit (12) specifies the trigger voltage for the piezoelectric unit (4) as a function of the pressure level in the high-pressure region (21), a leakage loss from the low-pressure region (20) and the hydraulic chamber (16), and the refilling of the low-pressure region.

摘要: A method and a device are described for detecting a fault current across a piezoelectric actuator (5) of an injector or its high voltage supply lead (6, 6a). Because the fault current upon contact with a person, for example, is relatively small compared to the useful current that charges or discharges the actuator, direct measurement of the current is not reliable. Therefore, it is suggested that, during the injection or in an injection pause, when the piezoelectric actuator (5) is charged, the voltage variation or a change in voltage (dU) be measured and the difference be compared to a predefined threshold value (S). When the threshold value (S) is exceeded, a fault message is produced, the voltage source is shut off, and/or the piezoelectric actuator (5) is discharged. The measured fault can be weighted using a counting algorithm. The method thus provides maximum protection upon contact, in particular for service personnel.

摘要: A process for optimizing data and/or program parts for programmed controllers that can be used, e.g., in motor vehicle controllers. In this process, the controller is connected to an external application device via an interface. Changes in the data and/or program parts to be optimized are entered with the help of the application device. This process is characterized in that, at the beginning of the optimizing process, the data and/or program parts are loaded into the data and/or program read-write memory (e.g., RAM) of the controller. In addition, the process is characterized in that specific changes are made in the control program and/or in the memory and/or register locations of the controller to cause the microprocessor of the controller to access the corresponding data and/or program parts in the data and/or program read-write memory (e.g., RAM) instead of accessing the data and/or program parts in the data and/or program read-only memory (e.g., flash EPROM). For a controller to be used in this process, the controller is provided with a decoder circuit that performs a switch when the microprocessor accesses a certain address or a certain address area. As a result of this switch, instead of accessing the data and/or program parts in the data and/or program read-only memory, the microprocessor accesses the corresponding data and/or program parts in the data and/or program read-write memory.
