摘要: In a radio wave radar system using a two-frequency CW modulation method, it is possible to detect a distance between a host vehicle and a forward vehicle and to realize a stable ACC following travel, even in a condition in which the relative speed is 0. By combining the two-frequency CW modulation method with the frequency pulse CW modulation method, that is, by using combination with the two-frequency CW method when the relative speed occurs and the frequency pulse CW method when the relative speed is close to 0, even if the relative speed is 0, the IF signal obtained from the reflected wave from the forward vehicle can be generated to detect the existence of the ACC target vehicle, so that it is possible to realize a stable ACC following travel.

摘要: Disclosed here is a multi-chip module enhanced in performance and reduced in size. A second semiconductor chip having bonding pads at the periphery of its surface is mounted over a first semiconductor chip laid out over a surface of a substrate back to back and a spacer is provided at a portion of the second semiconductor chip surface except for a predetermined area that includes the portion where the bonding pads are formed while a third semiconductor chip is mounted over the spacer, the third semiconductor having the same circuit function as the second semiconductor chip and oriented similarly to the second semiconductor chip. The bonding pads of the second and third semiconductor chips are connected to their corresponding electrodes formed over the substrate through bonding wires respectively, then the first to third semiconductor chips and the bonding wires provided over the substrate are all sealed by a sealing agent.

摘要: In an automotive radio wave radar, a center frequency of a transmitted wave is shifted at a certain cycle, and position information of an obstacle detected at three or more center frequencies is subjected to decision by majority to determine whether detection results of the obstacle are erroneous with the occurrence of jamming. If any of the detection results is determined to be abnormal, the abnormal result is discarded. An automotive radio wave radar is realized which can correctly perform the obstacle detection even in the event of jamming without causing erroneous obstacle detection or omission of the detection.

摘要: The present invention relates to a semiconductor device including a package board, a first DRAM that is flip-chip connected on the package board, a second DRAM that is of the same type as the first DRAM and is mounted face up on the first DRAM such that the orientation of the arrangement of the pads is at 90° from that of the first DRAM, a microcomputer chip disposed on the second DRAM, wires, and a sealing medium. The package board has a plurality of common wires for electrically connecting first electrodes for the first DRAM and second electrodes for the second DRAM. The common wires can be disposed without crossing on the surface wire layer of the package board, since the orientation of the arrangement of the pads of the second DRAM forms an angle of 90° relative to that of the first DRAM.

摘要: A scanning probe microscope has an XY scanner for making a probe scan a sample surface, an approach and separate drive element for making the probe approach to the sample surface at a sampling position and separate the probe from the sample surface during movement between the sampling positions, and a servo controller for holding the distance between the probe and the sample surface at a reference distance during measurement at the sampling position. A plurality of scattered measurement locations are set away from each other as sampling positions. The approach and separation movements are performed at each sampling position. When measuring the surface by the probe at a sampling position and while making the probe move between sampling positions, servo control by the servo controller is continued. This makes it possible to quickly measure the surface by a simple controller and possible to measure a wide area or measure a high aspect ratio. When making the probe approach to the sample surface for measurement at the sampling position, it is also possible to cause a scan motion for tandem movement at an equal speed and in the same direction as the scan motion by the XY scanner.

摘要: Described herein is a run environment recognizing apparatus. The run environment recognizing apparatus comprises an imaging device for sensing the direction of traveling of a host vehicle as imaging vision, a radar for detecting the direction of traveling of the host vehicle as a detection range, an image processing device for recognizing traveling lanes, leading vehicles and stationary objects located ahead of the host vehicle, based on the image information sensed by the imaging device and the result of detection by the radar, and a display for displaying the results of recognition by the image processing device. The image processing device includes means for setting vehicle regions indicative of the leading vehicles within the image information, based on the result of detection by the radar. Thus, the influence of the leading vehicles in the process for recognizing the traveling lanes within the image information is eliminated by the vehicle regions.

摘要: An elongated absorber housing, including an inlet duct and an outlet duct, is integrally provided on an upper portion of a circulation tank. The absorber is a self-supporting structure supported by only the circulation tank. At least the furthest upstream spraying stage in a spraying zone in the inlet duct includes spray pipes provided with spray nozzles for spraying an absorbing liquid in a direction cocurrent with gas flow, and at least the furthest downstream spraying stage includes spray nozzles for spraying the absorbing liquid in a direction countercurrent to the gas flow. The absorber is an integral structure in which the upper portion of the circulation tank forms a part of the duct, whereby the absorber is self-supportable and, moreover, is of a simple structure, giving it high strength and eliminating of the need for provision of fitments for supporting the absorber.

摘要: The liquid crystal device has a pair of flat glass substrates, a pair of dielectric multilayer film mirror, a plurality of transparent electrodes arranged in a matrix, a plurality of minute insulating films formed on inner face of the glass substrates, and a liquid crystal layer. A pair of dielectric multilayer film mirror constitute a Fabry-Perot etalon via the liquid crystal layer and enhance a contrast ratio. The minute insulating films are formed by physical vapor deposition and attain a uniform thickness, so that a liquid crystal device having a uniform cell gap is obtained.
