    摘要: A detachable storage unit is connected to host equipment in a computer system and holds an ejectable storage medium. The storage unit has a connection detector that detects whether or not the storage unit is connected to the host equipment, and a storage medium detector that detects the presence of a storage medium within the storage unit. A medium ejection instructor sends a medium ejection instruction to an automatic medium ejection mechanism upon receiving information that indicates that the storage medium might be moved. The storage medium is then ejected from the storage unit which prevents damage caused by the storage medium colliding with internal components of the storage unit while the storage unit is being moved.

    摘要: A projector includes a duct having a connecting end for connection to an air inlet provided in a housing, and an air intake end for drawing in outside air for cooling the interior of the projector. The duct is made of a soft or flexible material and is capable of altering its shape. Thus, the duct can change the position of the air intake end in space, for example, to different positions. Further, the duct is pivotable on a pivot axis, and thus can change the opening direction of the air intake end circumferentially about the pivot axis. Therefore, selection of the position and/or opening direction of the air intake end so as to draw in the outside air suitable for cooling the interior depending on the usage forms of the projector achieves efficient cooling of the interior of the projector.

    摘要: A track position detecting mechanism is used to detect an outermost peripheral track position of a magnetic disc for use as a reference point in making various accesses to the magnetic disc. The track position detecting mechanism has an optical detector including a light emitting element and a light receiving element, where an optical path is formed between the light emitting element and the light receiving element, and an interrupt member provided at such a position on a carriage that the interrupt member interrupts the optical path within the optical detector when a magnetic head is located at an outermost peripheral track position on the magnetic disc. The optical path substantially coincides with a plane which includes a center line of a guide shaft which guides the carriage, and the plane is parallel to a base of the carriage.

    摘要: An electromagnetic relay comprises an elongated coil bobbin having an axially extending bore and carrying therearound an excitation coil, a generally U-shaped yoke with first and second yoke members, and a generally U-shaped armature with short and long legs connected by a web. The yoke and the armature are magnetically coupled together partly within the axial bore of the coil bobbin to form a magnetic circuit with the excitation coil such that the armature is movable between a set position of closing a relay contact and a reset position of opening the relay contact. The first yoke member extends into the axial bore to define at its free end a first pole end while the second yoke member extending outwardly of the excitation coil to define a second pole end. The short armature leg extends into the bore in an overlying relation with the first pole end, while the long armature leg extends outwardly of the coil in adjacent relation to the second pole end. The armature defines a bearing edge at an inner corner between the web and the short leg and is pivotable relative to the yoke with the bearing end supported on a pivot edge formed at the end of the first pole end. A hinge spring is fitted into the axial bore of the coil bobbin to urge the bearing edge of the armature against the pivot edge of the yoke at an optimum contact pressure.

    摘要: A flexible magnetic disk, rotatably housed in an apertured envelope to make up a disk cartridge, is loaded through an entrance slot in the housing of the apparatus to a preassigned position for data transfer with a pair of transducer heads on its opposite sides. Upon subsequent manipulation of a clamp know, one of the transducer heads is sprung into forced contact with the other transducer head via the magnetic disk therebetween. In order to avoid the direct contact of the two transducer heads as a result of the user's tampering with the clamp knob when the disk cartridge is not loaded in the apparatus, a head control mechanism is provided for holding the transducer heads away from each other when the disk cartridge is not loaded, even if the clamp assembly is then actuated inadvertently. The head control mechanism allows the one transducer head to travel toward the other for the establishment of data transfer contact with the magnetic disk only when the clamp knob is actuated following the insertion of the disk cartridge in the entrance slot.
