Abstract:
A rehabilitation apparatus for facilitating joint movement in a patient having a limb with a joint, the apparatus including an actuation member and an actuation strap extending from the actuation member, the actuation member selectively retracting the actuation strap, the actuation strap having a strap end engageable with the limb of the patient. A security strap is connected to the actuation member. When the limb of the patient is engaged with the strap end of the actuation strap and the actuation member retracts the actuation strap, the actuation strap produces a force on the limb. The security strap can be a harness receivable about a patient's upper torso. The apparatus can further include a brace, the joint of the patient's limb receivable in the brace, the actuation strap engageable with the brace, the actuation strap producing a force on the limb via the brace.
Abstract:
A light emitting module and massage device provide vaginal rejuvenation. The device exposes collagen in the vaginal area or mucosa to temperatures elevated over normal body temperature to cause the collagen to reversibly or irreversibly denature while simultaneously applying vibration. Once thermally-induced collagen denaturation has occurred, both neoelastogenesis and neocollagenesis may occur and may be initiated with fibroblast proliferation, which may be promoted with vibration. Neofibrogenesis also occurs due to the fibroblastic activity, responsible for secretion of new collagen matrix to effect tissue repair. Thus, the device exploits thermally-induced collagen denaturation and repair along with simultaneous vibration to improve tissue tone, connective tissue tension and bulk tissue regeneration.
Abstract:
A dildo with adjustable girth is provided through a construction including a base, dilating mechanisms, and an elastic membrane which is fit over the dilating mechanisms. The dilating mechanisms are formed from a shaft, lateral bracing supports, and a drive mechanism. The lateral bracing supports are connected along the shaft, forming an inner structure for the elastic membrane. The drive mechanism, when activated, causes the shaft to rotate, which in turn causes the lateral bracing supports to press against and expand the elastic membrane. Preferably, two dilating mechanisms are provided in order to evenly expand the dildo to each side. The drive mechanisms can be either electrically operated (for example a corded input or an internal battery powering a motor) or manually operated (for example a user manually turning a handle to rotate the shaft). An articulated shaft can also be added to allow for bending of the dildo.
Abstract:
A method for correcting various dysfunctional joints on a human body using manual manipulation by an practitioner, comprising the steps of first determining the dominant and non-dominant side of a patient's body, manually administering to the human body a primary treatment cycle that includes nine functional joint manipulations each applied on one treatment session sequentially from patient's dominant side foot, the dominant-side knee, the dominant-side hip, the dominant-side pubic symphysis, the dominate side sacrotuberous ligament, the contralateral proximal clavicle, the contralateral shoulder, the contralateral elbow, and ending at the contralateral wrist. After the primary treatment cycle is completed, a secondary treatment cycle comprising nine functional joint manipulations each applied on one treatment session visit sequentially beginning at the non-dominate foot and moving upward and towards the patient's upper body contralateral shoulder, arm and wrist. After the secondary treatment cycle is completed, the primary treatment cycle is repeated.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a massaging apparatus. The massaging apparatus is comprised of a massage sphere that can be rotated with the use of adjacent ball bearings. The massage sphere is encased in an upper, midsection and lower housings, whereby only a section of the massage sphere is exposed. A strap is connected to the lower housing, and can be wrapped around the midsection housing for easy storage. To use the massaging apparatus, one simply has to hold the device and roll the exposed part of the massage sphere over the desired area. In order to massage hard to reach areas such as the back, both ends of the strap are held in each hand, and the massaging apparatus is placed on a hard surface such as a wall, in between the wall and the person's back. The user holds the straps and applies pressure onto the massaging apparatus.
Abstract:
A sheet for rehabilitation used together with a head-mounted display device (an HMD) that can display an image is disclosed. On the sheet for rehabilitation, markers functioning as labels for designating a position for displaying the image are provided.
Abstract:
An interchangeable massage roller is disclosed, which comprises a roller body having an annular depression around the middle section. The annular depression is selectively wrapped around by a cold/hot compress pad or a massage pad with different hardness and different projections according to the different need. Therefore, a cold/hot compress or a rolling massage course is applied to a user by the interchangeable massage roller according to the user's need, achieving the multifunction and selectable effect.
Abstract:
A foot cradle is mounted on tracks on a base for reciprocal motion for passive knee flexion or resistance knee flexion in either direction along the axis of the rectangular base. Resistance is supplied by resistance bands connected at both ends of the base and connected to the foot cradle. The foot cradle can be fixed in any desired position for assisted knee straightening exercises. The patient's foot is secured in the foot cradle by straps and a thigh strap keeps the patient's upper thigh in proper relationship to the apparatus.
Abstract:
An exercise apparatus comprises a wearable article and a plurality of straps. The wearable article may comprise pants, footwear, headwear, jackets, gloves, socks, shorts, shirts, vests, sleeves, unitards, and/or leotards. The straps may be positioned at various locations about the wearable article. The straps include a plurality of tabs exposed through corresponding openings in the wearable article. Each tab includes an attachment member that is capable of being selectively coupled with one or more exercise accessories. The tabs may be positioned equidistantly about each strap. The exercise accessories may comprise straps, static or flexible bands, rods, levels, poles, chains, resistance bands, weights, sandbags, weighted sleds, training parachutes, medical rehabilitation tools (such as stretch bands), or the like. The wearable article or straps may further include a plurality of snaps such that the, tabs are selectively securable to the snaps.
