Abstract:
A packaging system for the disposal of any manner of used or soiled personal care products includes a package member configured for the receipt of the used personal care products therein. The unique packaging disposal system member is comprised of a biodegradable, degradable, opaque, sealable, generally a soft-side bag like structure which is part of common element consisting of multiple packaging systems which are connected together or to a common element. The package member includes an opaque external surface having a desired nondescript aesthetic configuration or appearance for the purpose of discreet disposal of used or soiled personal care products. The aesthetic configuration of the said invention may include any manner of print, color, etc., for the purpose of disposal instructions, warnings or purchasing indicia. In other words, one viewing the package from the outside is not given obvious, noticeable indication that the package contains used or soiled personal care products nor are the items contained therein visible through the packaging system member.
Abstract:
A biodegradable lawn waste collection system is provided. The system generally includes a waste receiver, a shaping insert, and a handle. The waste receiver may comprise a mesh structure having a filling end and a sealing end. The mesh structure may be formed from a biodegradable polymer composition. The shaping insert is configured for removable reception within the filling end of the waste receiver. The shaping insert provides the waste receiver with rigidity and stability when filling the waste receiver with lawn waste. After the waste receiver has been filled with lawn waste, the shaping inert is removed and the filling end is secured, such as by tying a knot. The full waste receiver is then releasably attached to the handle, which enables the full waste receiver to be easily carried or dragged to a desired destination.
Abstract:
A bin suitable for mounting within a rigid enclosure, such as a cupboard, includes; a first section, which may be mounted within an enclosure, connected via a hinge to a second section, onto which a cupboard door may be mounted. Contents placed between first section and second section, when in the open position, are then compacted as second section is rotated closed. The invention may include a magnetic closure mechanism that offers a strong retaining force compared to that required to open the bin, and does so in a way that does not affect the external appearance of door mounted upon second section.
Abstract:
The description includes a toilet-flushable type biodegradable collection bag, more specifically, a toilet-flushable type biodegradable collection bag which has certain water-resistance but can soften or disintegrate rapidly when flushed with a fast and large water flow. The toilet-flushable type biodegradable collection bag according to the examples herein may be manufactured from the film prepared from the raw materials comprising a polyvinyl alcohol resin, a filling agent, a natural polymer material, a plasticizer, and the like. The toilet-flushable type biodegradable collection bag according to the examples combines the water-resistance and the toilet-flushable property of the film, and has an advantage of water-resistance to a degree while satisfying the toilet-flushable property and biodegradability. The collection bag can be used to collect waste with certain water content, such as excrement and vomit of people or pet waste without dissolution or break. Once the collection bag contacts plenty of water when discarded into a toilet, the collection bag softens or disintegrates rapidly, and then it is flushed into the sewer successfully and biodegraded completely in the septic tank.
Abstract:
A yard waste disposal storage and disposal system is disclosed that is suited for collection and biodegradable disposal of yard waste including leaves, sticks and other organic matter. According to one aspect of the invention, netting is attached to a web of biodegradable material and ties are provided for securing the netting and web about the yard waste.
Abstract:
A yard waste storage and disposal system which includes a free-standing frame defining an interior volume, the frame being substantially open at the top and at least partially open at the bottom. The system also includes a compliant bag-like member which is large enough to line the entire inside of the frame and overlap at least some of the outside of the frame at its top, and which spans the frame bottom, to define an interior yard waste collection volume. The compliant member has a substantial number of openings to allow rain water to pass therethrough.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a bag design to receiving a by-product of a primary product, the bag comprising: a receptacle forming at least one interior compartment and formed from a unitary sheet, wherein an opening is formed to the at least one interior compartment, and a plurality of folding creases are disposed distal to the opening; an adhesive strip disposed on the exterior surface of the rear panel; a first portion of a locking mechanism disposed below the folding creases on the exterior surface of the front panel; a second portion of a locking mechanism disposed distal to the opening on the exterior surface of the rear panel and substantially aligned with the first portion of the locking mechanism.
Abstract:
An oxo-biodegradable antimicrobial receptacle for organic waste or waste from care activities which comprises a layer comprising low density polyethylene, an oxo-biodegradation additive at between 0.2 and 2.2% by weight and an antimicrobial additive at between 0.2 and 2.2% by weight, distributed in the polyethylene. It affords a period of preservation, in the dark, of at least 3 years, preferably 5 years, at a temperature not exceeding 30° C. The preservation is estimated by the carbonyl optical density resulting from the degradation of the polyethylene, measured according to the standard ISO 10640-2011 by FT-IR spectroscopy. The oxo-degradation is inhibited by the absence of light, and a period of degradation estimated by the carbonyl optical density of less than 2 years. The oxo-degradation additive does not promote Clostridium difficile spores.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and devices are provided for transporting, tracking and managing waste or recyclable materials, which may include one or more devices for transporting waste or recyclable material, such a via a bin that comprises a base; and a collapsible sleeve movable between an open state and a collapsed state, wherein the collapsible sleeve in the open state interfaces in a nesting manner with the base to form a bin for receiving and transporting waste material.
Abstract:
Effective systems for separating, collecting and transferring organic waste from multi-unit residential buildings to deliver to composting centres are described which facilitate the reduction of contamination of the organic waste with non-compostable plastic bags. This is accomplished both by ensuring that the residents are constantly provided with compostable replacement bags for their kitchen caddies after each delivery of a bag by the resident to the recycling room, and through consistent marking that reminds residents of the system's requirements.
