An electric heater is positioned between the catalytic converter and the diesel particulate filter. A shore station can be used to provide power and combustion air to the diesel exhaust treatment device during regeneration of the diesel particulate filter.

摘要: A particulate filter for a vehicle exhaust system includes a primary filter surrounded by a secondary filter and a quenching agent injection nozzle arranged upstream of the primary filter. In a normal mode, exhaust flows through the primary filter, and in a fail-safe mode or a mixed mode, at least some exhaust flows through the secondary filter and quenching agent is injected via the nozzle to cool the primary filter. The fail-safe or mixed modes may be enacted during an overload of the primary filter, for example. If engine shutdown is initiated during regeneration of the primary filter, a rate of quenching agent injection may be adjusted so that the regeneration may be completed at a safe temperature.

摘要: An engine system includes an internal combustion engine having an exhaust system, and an air supply passage connecting therewith. The engine system includes an auxiliary regeneration device coupled with the exhaust system, and an auxiliary power turbine coupled with the exhaust system and positioned downstream the auxiliary regeneration device. A method of providing power in an internal combustion engine system is further provided, including turning off the engine, moving gases through an exhaust system of the engine, including combusting a fuel in the exhaust system with an auxiliary regeneration device, and operating a power source separate from the engine by rotating an auxiliary power turbine via the gases moving through the exhaust system.

摘要: An exhaust emission control device is realized which causes no battery exhaustion nor deterioration in engine startability even when the forced regeneration using the electric heater is conducted in the engine stopping status. Disclosed is an exhaust emission control device in which adopted as a filter body 7 for capturing particulates is a heat-regenerative particulate filter 10 with electric heater, the captured particulates being burned by heating of the electric heater 9 to forcedly regenerate the particulate filter 10. A control unit 37 responsible for a series of control operations with respect to the forced regeneration of the particulate filter 10 is constructed such that the forced regeneration in an engine stopping status is conduced only when the voltage of the battery 34 is higher than a stipulated value, and is temporarily interrupted when engine starting operation is conducted during the forced regeneration in the engine stopping status.

摘要: An exhaust gas purifier includes a filter for collecting particulates, a heater for firing collected particulates, a blower for feeding air, and a controller for controlling power supplied to the heater and air flow rate of the blower. The air flow rate is varied in a regeneration period for improving the regeneration efficiency and for protecting the filter. In one embodiment, the air flow rate is initially reduced in the burning period and increased after burning in the radial direction at the downstream portion of the filter. The burning propagation speed, the heat generation and the increase of the temperature of the filter are limited by suppressing the air flow rate in the burning period. The particulates remaining in the downstream portion of the filter due to the suppressed air flow rate supplied in the burning period can be burned subsequently by supplying an increased air flow rate after the burning period.

摘要: A method is provided for controlling the torque of an engine when a DPF is regenerated and includes detecting outputs of a gear pump and a main hydraulic pump as parameters for correcting a DPF regeneration condition, increasing the flow rate of the gear pump or main hydraulic pump, controlling the torque of an engine so as to reach a predetermined target engine torque value as the flow rate of the gear pump or main hydraulic pump is increased, starting DPF regeneration when the torque of the engine reaches the predetermined target engine torque value, allowing the number of revolutions of the engine to be increased on the basis of the target engine torque value during the DPF regeneration, and performing the DPF regeneration until the temperature of exhaust gas reaches a predetermined target DPF regeneration temperature.
