Abstract:
This application is directed to a device comprising a covering attached to the device. A process of making a device with a specific covering attached is also disclosed. The application further discloses a method for the treatment of perforations, fistulas, ruptures, dehiscence and aneurisms in luminal vessels and organs of a subject.
Abstract:
An optically variable device may be manufactured by aligning magnetic flakes on a surface of an adhesive layer by applying the flakes onto the adhesive layer surface in presence of a magnetic field, and curing the adhesive layer having magnetic flakes adhered to the adhesive layer. When cured, the adhesive layer holds the magnetic flakes oriented, enabling subsequent encapsulation of the oriented magnetic flakes in a coating layer on the adhesive layer, without a substantial loss of orientation of the magnetic flakes.
Abstract:
A roofing material including a substrate having a top face and a bottom face. The roofing material further includes a non-asphalt coating applied to the substrate and an asphalt layer covering at least a portion of the top face. The bottom face is asphalt-free, or substantially asphalt-free.
Abstract:
A tissue fusion agent includes a supporting element and a flock material. A surgical system includes the tissue fusion agent and a tissue fusion instrument. A method of producing the tissue fusion agent includes a) coating a supporting element with an adhesive, and b) flocking the adhesive-coated supporting element with a flock material while the adhesive is moist, adhesive or tacky, or after activation of the adhesive.
Abstract:
Hair accessories include (a) a substrate having a hair-holding surface configured for holding hair, and a structural surface; and (b) a layer provided on at least a portion of the hair-holding surface, wherein the layer contains a plurality of flocked fibers. Methods of manufacturing hair accessories are described.
Abstract:
Provided for example is a method of making an lined elastomeric article comprising: (I) applying to a base elastomer layer a foamed or unfoamed composite of flock fibers and aqueous elastomer, wherein (a) if the elastomer base layer polymer component is (i) not predominantly NR or (ii) not predominantly NR plus NBR, then the elastomer of the composite comprises NBR, wherein NBR and if present acrylic latex are (1) substantial in the composite or (2) predominate in the composite, and/or wherein (b) the elastomer of the composite comprises acrylic latex, NBR and, if the elastomeric base layer is not predominantly NBR, the major elastomer of the base layer.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for providing a surface of a fiber based substrate with a barrier layer wherein the barrier layer is formed by depositing nanofibers on the surface by the use of electrospinning or meltspinning and wherein the film is formed by post treatment of the substrate. The invention further relates to a substrate comprising such a carrier layer.
Abstract:
It is intended to provide a flocked metal plate, which has a hydrophilic nature and is excellent in water retention property and water absorbing property, and a method of producing the flocked metal plate. A flocked metal plate having a flocked layer, which is formed by implanting short fibers as short fiber bundles in a synthetic resin adhesive layer provided at least one face of a metal plate or a surface treated metal plate, wherein the synthetic resin adhesive layer is made a hydrophilic synthetic resin adhesive layer, the short fibers implanted in the synthetic resin adhesive layer are made hydrophilized short fibers, and the short fibers are implanted in the synthetic resin adhesive layer to give a flocked layer having short fiber bundles at as high density as possible, thereby giving a flocked metal plate carrying a flocked layer having been made a flocked layer which exhibits a hydrophilic nature, water retention property and water absorbing property.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a method for coating a target. The method includes providing a target and an electrospinning apparatus. The target comprises a first surface and an opposing second surface. The electrospinning apparatus comprises a mandrel, a mask including an aperture, a reservoir loaded with a solution, and an orifice fluidly coupled to the reservoir. The mandrel is located adjacent the target second surface. The orifice is located at a distance from the target first surface. The mask is located intermediate the orifice and the target first surface. The solution is electrospun through the mask aperture onto the target first surface. In one example the target is an endoluminal prosthesis.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a coated detergent composition and a process of manufacturing thereof. More in detail the present invention refers to a coated detergent tablet wherein the coating is applied to the tablet by bringing a powder coating material in direct contact with the tablet and thereafter equalizing the powder particles in a way that a homogenous “fused” coating (film) layer is obtained.
