    摘要: The invention addresses the use of a composite carbon dioxide scavenging filler which has been dispersed uniformly into a polymeric matrix. The resultant layer can then be coated or laminated onto a paper, paperboard, foil, or other substrates. It can also be made into a cast or blown film. The carbon dioxide scavenging structure thus created desirably contains a polymeric matrix binder as the filler dispersion medium, one or more particular carbon dioxide scavenging fillers, one or more moisture producing/retaining agents or moisture retaining agents, and, optionally, one or more polymeric or surfactant dispersion/wetting agents aiding the wetting and the uniform dispersion of the fillers in the matrix. This allows products contained in a package, such as roasted coffee, or produce, to maintain freshness and counteract pressure buildup in a package which results in bulging, rupture, loss of freshness, poor shelf appearance, and increased anaerobic bacterial activity.

    摘要: A resin-impregnated endless belt for a long nip press of the shoe type has a base structure impregnated by a polymeric resin material which renders the belt impermeable to fluids, such as oil, water and air. The polymeric resin material forms layers on the inner and outer sides of the base structure. The inner layer is smooth, but the outer layer has primary grooves for the temporary storage of water pressed from a paper web. The primary grooves are separated by land areas which have secondary grooves extending thereacross to relieve stresses which give rise to flex fatigue and stress cracking.

    摘要: After laminating together the first sheets crepe-processed at a high crepe ratio and the second sheet crepe-processed at a crepe ratio lower than that of the first sheet or not crepe-processed, the sheets are bonded together at bonding parts at a given pitch in rows. When the resulting bonded sheets are impregnated with a liquid, expansions are generated between the rows of bonding parts due to the difference in ratios of the elongation of the two sheets. The expansions take on the shape of large wrinkle according to the pitch of the bonding parts. At the production process of the sheet, the sheet is crepe-processed containing water at a preset ratio, whereby small wrinkles as residual crepe wrinkles are formed on the sheet surface. The large wrinkles and the small wrinkles can enhance the wiping effect.

    摘要: Composites of paper and bioriented polyester plastic film are made by passing a web of paperboard and a web of plastic film, with a layer of extruded molten polymer impregnating and bonding agent between the webs, through a nip. The process involves controlling one or more of the speed of the webs, the temperature of the molten polymer, the pressure or spacing of the rolls at the nip, and the rate of extrusion, relative to the porosity and surface characteristics of the paper web such that a portion of the molten polymer impregnates partially into and becomes part of the paper web and a substantial portion lies outwardly of the surface of the paper web and solidifies to form a new surface to which the film is bonded and which it is supported clear of the paper surface. The molten polymer may be polyethylene or an ethylene acrylic acid copolymer. These composites are useful in forming corrugated structures which may be used for baking in convection ovens.
