摘要: A control apparatus for a vehicular drive system including (a) an electrically controlled differential portion having a differential mechanism and operable to control a differential state between its input and output speeds by controlling an operating state of an electric motor connected to a rotary element of the differential mechanism, and (b) a transmission portion which constitutes a part of a power transmitting path between the electrically controlled differential portion and a drive wheel of a vehicle, the control apparatus including a non-iso-power shifting control portion configured to implement a non-iso-power shifting control of the vehicular drive system (differential portion) when a required special shifting action of the transmission portion not according to a shifting boundary line map should be restricted.

摘要: A control apparatus for a vehicular drive system arranged to electrically transmit a portion of an output force of an engine through an electric path, which control apparatus is configured to reduce loads of components associated with the electric path and to restrict a temperature rise of the components associated with the electric path, making it possible to reduce the required size of a cooling system.Electric-energy restriction control means 84 is provided to place differential portion 11 in a non-differential state or to place switching clutch C0 or switching brake B0 in a partially engaged state, when an amount of transmission of electric energy through the electric path has increased to a thermal limit, so that a reaction force which corresponds to engine torque TE and which must be received by first electric motor M1 is reduced, whereby an amount of generation of electricity by the first electric motor m1 is reduced, and the amount of the generated electric energy is reduced, making it possible to restrict the temperature rise of the components associated with the electric path and to reduce the required size of the cooling system for cooling those components and the loads of the components associated with the electric path.

摘要: A high torque capacity infinitely variable transmission of the epicyclic type in which an input rotor is mounted on and rotates with the input shaft. A plurality of discs are rotatably supported by spindles which radiate outwardly from a spider hub which in turn is journaled and freely rotates about a portion of the input shaft. The axis of rotation of these discs lies in a common plane transverse to the axis of rotation of the input shaft and spider. The discs are in tractional engagement with the traction contact path radius of the input rotor and are driven around the traction contact path radius of the non-rotating traction ring thereby causing the discs to rotate about their axis in a direction of rotation opposite that of the input rotor and driving the spider about its axis in the same direction of rotation as the input rotor. Each disc is in driving relationship with a spindle gear. These spindle gears are in driving relationship with a sun gear which is mounted on and rotates with the output shaft. An infinitely variable change in the input/output ratio is achieved by displacing the traction ring axially. A change in the ratio range of the transmission is achieved by varying the pitch diameter ratio of the spindle gears to the sun gear.
