Abstract: The invention provides peptides that can reactivate p53 mutants efficiently and specifically, as well as methods that allow the identification, selection and isolation of such peptides, in a precise, cost and time effective manner. In particular, there are provided mutant p53 reactivating peptides that can restore the native wild type p53 folding, and hence the tumor suppressor activity, to the mutant p53 protein. Such peptides are useful for treating various conditions and diseases in which p53 is mutated.

Abstract: A method of treating a subject in need of a non-syngeneic cell or tissue graft is disclosed. The method comprising: (a) transplanting into a subject a dose of T cell depleted immature hematopoetic cells, wherein the T cell depleted immature hematopoetic cells comprise less than 5×105 CD3+ T cells per kilogram body weight of the subject, and wherein the dose comprises at least about 5×106 CD34+ cells per kilogram body weight of the subject, and wherein the T cell depleted immature hematopoetic cells are obtained by separating the T cells from the immature hematopoetic cells by magnetic cell sorting, and (b) administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of cyclophosphamide, wherein the therapeutically effective amount comprises 25-200 mg per body weight, thereby treating the subject.

Abstract: An isolated muscle progenitor cell being MyoD positive, CD34 negative and CD45 negative is disclosed. The muscle progenitor cell is genetically modified to express at least one neurotrophic factor. In addition, cell populations are disclosed, comprising at least four subpopulations of muscle cells each being genetically modified to express a different neurotrophic factor, wherein said neurotrophic factor is selected from the group consisting of glial derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), insulin growth factor (IGF-1), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). Uses of the cell populations are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method of determining olfactory perception signature of a subject is disclosed. The method comprises: providing the subject with a plurality of physical odorant samples for sniffing; for each sniffed odorant sample, presenting to the subject, by a user interface, a set of odorant descriptors and a respective set of rating controls, and receiving ratings entered by the subject using the rating controls. Each rating is indicative of a descriptiveness of a respective odorant descriptor for the odorant sample, thereby obtaining a set of descriptiveness levels for the odorant sample. The method also comprises calculating, by a computer, relations between pairs of sets of descriptiveness levels corresponding to pairs of odorant samples, to provide a vector of relations, wherein the vector represents the olfactory perception signature of the subject.
