In the LED, a light emitting structure has first and second conductivity type nitride semiconductor layers and an active layer interposed therebetween. Each of plurality of first and second electrodes has a bonding pad placed adjacent to a top corner of the light emitting structure and at least one electrode finger extended from the bonding pad. The first and second electrodes are connected to the first and second conductivity type nitride semiconductor layers, respectively. Also, bonding pads are arranged alternately along edges of the light emitting structure with different polarity, in a substantially symmetric configuration with respect to the center of the light emitting structure. In addition, each of electrode fingers is extended from a corresponding pad and bent at least once toward the center of the light emitting structure to adjoin the electrode finger having different polarity.

Provided is a small form factor optical/magnetic disk including an integrated metal hub and a disk plate. The integrated metal hub includes a circular upper metal hub and a circular lower metal hub integrally formed with and disposed under the upper metal hub. The circular lower metal hub has a smaller diameter smaller than the upper metal hub. A central hole is formed in central portions of the upper and lower metal hubs and passes through the upper and lower metal hubs. The disk plate has a through-hole that is formed in a central portion and is directly associated with the integrated metal hub, and a recess that is formed around the through-hole and allows the upper metal hub to be mounted therein. Since the central portion of the small form factor optical/magnetic disk is not thick, the small form factor optical/magnetic disk can contribute to an ultra thin small form factor information storage device. Also, since manufacturing processes are simple, price and quality competitiveness can be enhanced.

The method includes forming a hub for readily mounting the disk to a magnetic rotational disk connected to a spindle motor of the information appliances by depositing or plating a magnetic material, whereby it is possible to minimize a thickness of the disk, simplifying a manufacturing process, allowing an ultra-small and ultra-slim form factor disk to be manufactured, and therefore, facilitating ultra-minimization and ultra-slim of the information appliances.

Consequently, leakage of magnetic flux of the field magnet assembly is minimized, and torque is improved as compared to a conventional motor having the same stacking and capacity. In a washing machine with the motor, the magnets and the magnet spacers are integrally attached to the outer tub of the washing machine. Consequently, the size of the washing machine is minimized. The sizes of the inner and outer tubs are increased when the washing machine according to the present invention has the same size as the conventional washing machine. Consequently, the capacity of the washing machine is increased.

The handoff method includes the steps of assigning, at a packet data service node of the mobile communication system, an IP address to the dual mode terminal connected to the service network, establishing, at the packet data service node, a tunneling path to the wireless LAN when the dual mode terminal moves from the mobile communication network to the wireless LAN, and disconnecting, at the packet data service node, the tunneling path to the wireless LAN, and establishing a tunneling path to another packet data service node whose Internet Protocol (IP) address has been established by the packet data service node, when the dual mode terminal moves from the wireless LAN to the mobile communication system. A dual mode terminal that moves from a 3G mobile communication system to a wireless network in an active state maintains an existing IP address assigned from an active 3G mobile communication system so that the dual mode terminal can maintain an upper layer session and transmit an IP packet to a terminal located in a 3G mobile communication system.

A method for preparing a multilayer of nanocrystals. The method includes the steps of (i) coating nanocrystals surface-coordinated by a photosensitive compound, or a mixed solution of a photosensitive compound and nanocrystals surface-coordinated by a material miscible with the photosensitive compound, on a substrate, drying the coated substrate, and exposing the dried substrate to UV light to form a first monolayer of nanocrystals, and (ii) repeating the procedure of step (i) to form one or more monolayers of nanocrystals on the first monolayer of nanocrystals. Further, an organic-inorganic hybrid electroluminescence device using a multilayer of nanocrystals prepared by the method as a luminescent layer. The luminescent efficiency and luminescence intensity of the electroluminescence device can be enhanced, and the electrical properties of the electroluminescence device can be controlled by the use of the multilayer of nanocrystals as a luminescent layer.
