Abstract: A bearing device for a wheel, where preload control is easy and a uniform amount of preload can be applied even if a bearing seal is installed in the bearing device. The bearing device rotatably supports a wheel and has an outer member 1, an inner member 2, and rolling elements 3 interposed between both members. The outer member 1 has on its outer periphery a vehicle body installation flange 1a, and double row rolling surfaces 6, 7 are formed on the inner peripheries of the outer member. Rolling surfaces 8, 9 facing the rolling surfaces 6, 7 of the outer member 1 are formed in the inner member 2. Between the rolling surfaces of both members 1, 2 are interposed the rolling elements 3. A sensor 4 for detecting the amount of preload of the bearing is provided on either the outer member 1 or the inner member 2.

Abstract: A wheel support bearing assembly includes an outer member (1) having an inner peripheral surface formed with raceway surfaces (4), an inner member (2) having an outer peripheral surface formed with raceway surfaces (5) in face-to-face relation with the raceway surfaces (4) in the outer member (1), and rows of rolling elements (3) interposed between the raceway surfaces (4, 5). A ring member (21) made of a magnetostrictive material is fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the inner member (2), and a magnetostrictive sensor (23) and a displacement sensor (22) are disposed in the outer member (1) or a member (24) fixed to the outer member (1) to confront the ring member. The magnetostrictive sensor (23) measures a change in magnetic strain occurring in the ring member (21) and the displacement sensor (22) measures the distance between the ring member (21) and the displacement sensor (22).

Abstract: This centrifugal blood pump apparatus includes an impeller provided in a blood chamber, a first permanent magnet provided in one surface of the impeller, and a second permanent magnet provided in an inner wall of the blood chamber, for attracting the first permanent magnet. The attractive force between the first permanent magnet and the second permanent magnet on the opening side of a sidewall of the blood chamber is set to be smaller than the attractive force between the first permanent magnet and the second permanent magnet on the opposite side of the opening. As a result, inclination of the impeller with respect to a dividing wall during pump operation can be prevented.

Abstract: A centrifugal blood pump apparatus includes an impeller provided in a blood chamber, a permanent magnet provided in one surface of the impeller, a permanent magnet provided in an inner wall of the blood chamber, a permanent magnet provided in the other surface of the impeller, and a magnetic material and a coil provided in a motor chamber for driving the impeller to rotate via a diaphragm. Grooves for hydrodynamic bearing are formed in the diaphragm facing the impeller, and in the inner wall of the blood chamber, respectively. As a result, the impeller can be smoothly activated to drive by controlling a coil current.

Abstract: A vehicle drive motor, capable of efficiently cooling the motor stator without being accompanied by an increase in size, includes a stator having an annular stator core, provided in an inner periphery of a tubular motor casing, and a stator coil provided in the stator core, and a rotor on an inner side of the stator core and rotatable relative to the stator. The motor casing includes an oil supply passage and an oil discharge passage in the motor casing and opening at an inner diametric surface of the motor casing, which are opposite axially to each other. Stator core grooves communicated with the oil supply passage and the oil discharge passage extend axially in an outer diametric surface of the stator core. Accordingly, lubricant oil may flow from the oil supply passage towards the oil discharge passage through the stator core groove.

Abstract: An electric vehicle including a plurality of motors for individually driving left and right drive wheels is provided with a motor abnormality detector for detecting the occurrence of an abnormality in each of the motors and one side abnormality response controller. Abstract: An electric vehicle includes an in-wheel motor drive system. The in-wheel motor drive system includes a wheel bearing unit rotatably supporting a drive wheel, a motor unit, and a reducer unit. The electric vehicle also includes a disturbance observer that determines an estimate of external force influence on the drive wheel. The electric vehicle further includes a slip level-responsive corrector. The slip level-responsive corrector may use the estimate of external force influence, calculate a correction value that may correspond to slip level of the drive wheel, and correct an accelerator signal to the motor unit with the correction value to produce a motor torque command value.
