摘要： An insertion device comprises an insertion unit to be inserted into a subject, a spiral-shaped portion to be in contact with an inner wall of a lumen of a subject along with the insertion unit being inserted into the subject, and a rotating unit for rotating the insertion unit provided with the spiral-shaped portion. The spiral-shaped portion is partially provided in a plurality of portions in a portion to be in contact with an inner wall of a lumen of a subject, or provided across the entire portion to be in contact with the inner wall of the lumen of the subject. Propulsion at the time of inserting the insertion unit into a subject is obtained by rotating the insertion unit provided with the spiral-shaped portion.

摘要： An endoscope suitable for autoclave sterilization includes an insertion section having an objective lens section disposed at the extreme end thereof for focusing a subject image and an eyepiece section located on the base end side of the inserting section and including at least an eyepiece lens. an image guide fiber is disposed in the bundle for transmitting the subject image in an observation section focused by the objective lens section. An eyepiece lens unit is disposed in the eyepiece section, the eyepiece lens unit causing the eyepiece lens to confront the base end structure whose hermetic seal level is higher than the watertight seal level of the shell of the endoscope. A focus position changing means is disposed to the eyepiece lens unit to change the focus position of the eyepiece lens. The eyepiece section is so constructed and/or assembled that the autoclave sterilization process does not cause water vapor or the like to adversely affect the operability of the eyepiece section.

摘要： An endoscope system provided with an electronic or optical endoscope is provided therein with an illuminating optical system, an observation optical system, a flow passage system and a forceps channel. Cleaning and disinfection operations are performed on the endoscope so that the endoscope is reusable. An electronic or optical cover type endoscope is provided therein with an illuminating optical system and an observation optical system. The cover type endoscope is used with an endoscope cover having a flow passage system and a forceps channel mounted on the cover type endoscope. The endoscope cover is discarded and replaced whereby the cover type endoscope is reused. Peripheral equipment for endoscope inspection used in combination with the endoscopes is capable of being selectively connected to any of the endoscopes.

摘要： A line changeover device for an endoscope, which changes over a line which is arranged in the endoscope, is arranged such that it comprises a cylinder and a piston which is fitted and inserted into the cylinder in a retractable manner, a seal member which is abutted against the cylinder for retaining at least one of water tightness and gas tightness with respect to the cylinder is fixedly provided on an outer periphery of the piston, and a strength reinforcement is provided on at least a part between an outer periphery of said seal member and an inner periphery thereof. The water tightness and the gas tightness within the cylinder are retained or held, and a sliding resistance of the piston is kept appropriately or adequately without the use of lubricating oil. Sliding ability between the cylinder and the piston at the time of operation is improved. Operability can be made fine or satisfactory.

Thus, defects due to a long duct can be eliminated, and tissue can be retrieved without influence of the periphery of the suction switchover valve.

The endoscope is equipped with an elongated and flexible insertion tube being inserted into an object being examined and formed to be used in combination with a therapeutic instrument. The insertion tube has a distal section accommodating therein at least an optical system for imaging and presenting a longitudinal direction. The manipulating unit is manually manipulated for commanding operations of at least the therapeutic instrument and formed to be loaded to the insertion tube and slidable along the insertion tube in the longitudinal direction thereof. The controlling unit controls at least the therapeutic instrument based on a command from the manipulating unit.
