The apparatus has a breath input interface configured to receive exhaled breath, a container connected to the breath input interface for receiving at least some of the exhaled breath, the container having a cavity with a volume that is controllable, and at least one controller configured to control the volume of the cavity to increase at a volume increase rate that is at most equal to a flow rate of the exhaled breath received by the breath input interface.

摘要: This disclosure provides a breath microbe collection assembly. The assembly receives both an upper respiratory breath and a lower respiratory breath of a user. The assembly includes a housing having a first chamber and a second chamber. A portion of the first chamber is configured to receive the upper respiratory breath and the lower respiratory breath. The second chamber is configured to receive the lower respiratory breath. A stop is mounted within the first chamber. A valve is mounted to the housing and has a pivoting part and a diverting part. The pivoting part is adjacent one side of the stop when the valve is in an initial position. The diverting part is adjacent another side opposite the one side of the stop when the valve is in an activated position. The valve automatically returns to the initial position when a volume of an initial breath of said user is dissipated.

The controller (68) preferably includes a pair of normally-opened, interconnected relays which remain energized throughout the operation of the vehicle.

摘要: Quantitative colorimetric carbon dioxide measurement and measurement systems and methods are disclosed. The methods can include methods for calibrating a chemical colorimetric indicator used in the quantitative colorimetric carbon dioxide measurement system. Apparatuses are disclosed including a cartridge comprising a chemical colorimetric indicator that is configured to removably engage with a quantitative colorimetric measurement system. Cartridges containing a sealed container comprising a reference gas with a known concentration of carbon dioxide are also disclosed. Systems and methods for humidifying the chemical colorimetric indicator are also provided. Methods for using the systems are also disclosed including providing a breathing therapy to a patient or user.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for testing oral malodor, in particular oral malodor from onion and garlic. Described herein are methods for testing the efficacy of an oral care composition to reduce oral malodor, the method comprising the steps of: a) cleaning at least a part of the oral cavity with an oral care composition; b) testing a first sample of exhaled breath from the cleaned oral cavity to provide a first test result representing a first amount of at least one oral malodor component detected in the exhaled breath; c) exposing the oral cavity to an oral malodor material including or capable of forming the at least one oral malodor component; and d) testing a second sample of exhaled breath from the oral cavity to provide a second test result representing a second amount of the at least one oral malodor component detected in the exhaled breath.

摘要: A method and system for monitoring a user's intoxication including receiving a set of signals, derived from a set of samples collected from the user at a set of time points; providing a sobriety task to the user proximal to a time point of the set of time points; generating a performance dataset characterizing performance of the sobriety task by the user; receiving a supplementary dataset characterizing a demographic profile of the user and/or a physiological state of the user; determining a set of values of an intoxication metric, derived from the set of signals; generating a predicted temporal profile of the intoxication metric for the user based upon the set of values, the set of time points, and the supplementary dataset; generating an analysis of the user's sobriety based upon the performance dataset and the predicted temporal profile; and providing a notification to the user based upon the analysis.
