Abstract: Disclosed is a method of modulating DNA damage response (DDR) signaling in a cell in which the modulating of DDR signaling is desired. In representative embodiments, the method comprises administering to the cell an effective amount of a substance capable of modulating cyclic GMP-AMP synthase-cyclic guanosine monophosphate-adenosine monophosphate (cGAS-cGAMP) pathway activity in the cell to thereby modulate DDR signaling in the cell.

Abstract: A stent for a blood vessel includes a covering membrane and anchoring members connected to the covering membrane. The anchoring members are configured to secure the covering membrane within the blood vessel. The covering membrane is configured to pocket a diseased area of the blood vessel. The anchoring members are configured to sufficiently attach the covering membrane to the intima of the blood vessel when the stent is subjected to blood flow, fixing the covering membrane in the intended implantation position. The covering membrane can pocket the unstable plaque on the blood vessel intima, preventing rupture of the unstable plaque.
