    摘要: A twin check valve pumping system for use with a syringe or other variable volume pumping device for the pumping of liquids. Along a flow path between the check valves, a porous, hydrophobic member is positioned, in communication with a portion of the flow path upstream of the first, inlet check valve. The second, downstream outlet check valve is biased so that pressure in the conduit between the check valves is required for expulsion of liquid. When gas enters the system, such pressure cannot be achieved, because, upon attempted pressurization of the area between the two check valves, the gas passes through the porous, hydrophobic member back to a position upstream of the first, inlet valve. However, aqueous liquids cannot pass through the porous member, and accordingly the device pumps such liquids normally in the absence of gas.

By preventing over-insertion of the septum actuator, the slit of the septum is able to repeatedly self-close following removal of an external Luer device. Thus, the intravenous infusion assembly may be used repeatedly without exposing a clinician to blood and other infusion fluids.

    摘要: A needle-free connector includes a hollow connector, an elastic block, and a switch assembly. The inner perimeter of the hollow connector forms a first annular wall and a second annular wall. The elastic block is disposed in the hollow connector. The switch assembly has a stop member and a guide tube connected to the stop member, the stop member being pressed between the annular block and the elastic block, the guide tube being disposed in the hollow connector, the external perimeter of the stop member forming a first annular portion against the first annular wall and a second annular portion against the second annular wall, a groove being disposed between the first annular portion and the second annular portion of the stop member, the groove being connected to the guide tube. Thus, the structure stability and closing performance are achieved such that the outside air cannot leak into the connector.

    摘要: A syringe propellable by propellant that boils at a predetermined temperature, the syringe including a barrel having an outlet at a front end, and a stopper axially moveable in the barrel. The stopper separates a first chamber and a second chamber, the first chamber being axially forwards of the stopper and being configured for containing a medicament, and the second chamber being axially rearwards of the stopper and being configured to receive propellant for acting on the stopper to move the stopper axially forwardly in the barrel to expel medicament through the outlet upon actuation of the syringe. The syringe further includes a rupturing portion and a third chamber for containing propellant where the third chamber is rupturable upon actuation of the syringe to fluidly connect the third chamber to the second chamber. When propellant is released into the second chamber the pressure in the second chamber increases causing the stopper to move axially forwardly to begin expulsion of medicament from the first chamber through the outlet. The syringe is configured such that while the medicament is expelled from the first chamber the pressure in the second chamber changes to a second pressure.

    摘要: A sampling connector for use in sampling a body fluid such as arterial blood or cerebrospinal fluid. The sampling connector comprises at least two apertures in fluid communication via a fluid flow conduit and a one-way valve (14) disposed to allow fluid flow from the first aperture, through the fluid flow conduit and out of the second aperture, but not to allow fluid to flow into the second aperture and through the fluid flow conduit to the first aperture. In use, the sampling connector is connected to a body cavity to enable the sampling of a body fluid by withdrawal of the body fluid through the first aperture, and to prevent the introduction of a separate fluid to the body cavity. The first aperture can be within a male end and the second aperture can be within a female end or vice versa. A sampling device comprising a sampling connector according to the present invention and use of the sampling connector and/or sampling device is also claimed.

    摘要: A dental syringe may include a replaceable valve cartridge containing one or more valves which may use a seating surface and an opposing seating surface with a relative angle formed between the two surfaces. The relative angle allows for regulation of the flow of fluid. The replaceable valve cartridge may also include a system to remove a residual liquid from a tip of a dental syringe. Additionally, the replaceable valve cartridge may include a seal that prevents bleed-over of fluids. Further, the dental syringe may comprise a tip retention insert which may use either a pair of plates or a plurality of ball bearings to retain the dental syringe tips. An alternate embodiment of a valve may comprise features intended to reduce the force necessary to actuate the valve. A metering screw and/or flow-control groove with increasing depth may control of flow through the valve.
