摘要： A system for incorporating, in the production of a continuous stream of images, by an image transfer device upon a moving web, post-production operations upon the web at various locations. Locations of a web, having a plurality of images placed thereon, output from an image transfer device are tracked. Specific operations at various locations upon the web are performed by a post-production device as the web passes through it. The web is directed from the image transfer device to the post-production device. In response to the tracking of locations upon the web, the point when a location has entered the post-production device is determined. In response to this determination, the post-production device is commanded to perform its specific operation at a connect location.

摘要： A photographic printing or developing machine has a station for processing bands of photographic material. The processing station has an inlet side and an outlet side. A first station provided with several receiving areas for wheeled take-off cassettes carrying coild bands of photographic material is located adjacent to the inlet side. A second station provided with several receiving areas for wheeled, empty take-up cassettes is disposed adjacent to the outlet side. The first and second stations each have a mechanism for conveying and guiding bands of photographic material between the processing station and the various receiving areas. Furthermore, a detecting mechanism is located at each receiving area and the detecting mechanism, as well as the conveying and guiding mechanism, are connected to an electronic control unit. In operation, a loaded take-off cassette is positioned at each receiving area of the first station and an empty take-up cassette is positioned at each receiving area of the second station.

摘要： A dual mode document feeder for feeding conventional document sheets from a stack thereof in the document feeding tray of the document feeder to the imaging station of a copier, the document feeding tray having a resettable side guide for those conventional document sheets, wherein the dual mode document feeder alternatively provides automatic restacking of fan-fold web documents in this same document tray. The document feeding tray is enlarged to accommodate the latter. The side guide is repositionable intermediately of the document feeding tray. The side guide has an additional integral fan-fold web end stopping surface intersecting with the tray bottom surface to provide restacking of fan-fold web thereon. Automatic fan-fold stacking of the fan-fold web document is provided in the document feeding tray by guiding the fan-fold web into the document feeding tray from the imaging station with the platen transport through a baffle guide to and against this additional side guide surface, in cooperation with the tray surfaces, for automatic restacking.

During assembly, primary absorbent members, a continuous length of secondary absorbent members, and a continuous cord are advanced in a machine direction. Leading edges of the primary absorbent members are separated from each other in the machine direction by a pitch distance. Discrete secondary absorbent members are cut from the continuous length of secondary absorbent members. Leading edges of the discrete secondary absorbent members are also separated from each other in the machine direction by the pitch distance. The continuous cord is positioned on the secondary absorbent members. And a secondary absorbent member is positioned in contact with a primary absorbent member. A thread is combined with the continuous cord, the secondary absorbent member, and the primary absorbent member.

摘要： A method is provided for making an elastic composite having dual elasticized regions. The method entails conveying a base web and integrating a first elastic sub-composite with the base web. Then, a second elastic sub-composite is integrated with the base web, whereby the second elastic sub-composite is spaced apart from the first elasticized sub-composite applied thereon. As a result, an elastic composite having dual elasticized regions is produced. This elastic composite includes a base layer having a pair of side edges and a longitudinal centerline spaced inwardly from the side edges, and a first elastic construction supported by the base layer. The first elastic construction includes a first plurality of spaced apart elastic elements and a first top layer extending over the first elastic construction. The elastic composite also includes a second elastic construction supported by the base layer. The second elastic construction includes a second plurality of spaced apart elastic elements and a second top layer extending over the elastic construction. The first and second top layers are spaced apart and the first and second elastic constructions are spaced apart, so as to define a central non-elasticized region between the first and second elastic constructions.

摘要： There is provided a manufacturing method for a composite body of a continuous sheet associated with an absorbent article, the composite body being manufactured by attaching a single-cut sheet to the continuous sheet at a predetermined attachment pitch. The method includes: holding the single-cut sheet by a holding section in surface-to-surface contact, the holding section moving along a path; weakening a holding force by which the single-cut sheet is held; exerting a suction force on the single-cut sheet through the continuous sheet, the suction force causing the single-cut sheet to be sucked toward the continuous sheet; and when the holding section passes a delivery position set on the path, separating the single-cut sheet from the holding section, and delivering the single-cut sheet to the continuous sheet by attaching the single-cut sheet to the continuous sheet without pinching the single-cut sheet between the holding section and the continuous sheet due to the weakening and the exerting, the continuous sheet being running through a neighboring position near the delivery position.
