摘要: A system for electrophysiological measurement includes a probe having a distal end configured for insertion into a body cavity of a living subject and including an array of electrodes that are disposed along the distal end and are configured to contact tissue at multiple locations within the body cavity. A processor is configured to acquire signals from the electrodes over a period of time during which the probe moves within the body cavity, to compute, in response the signals, metrics that are indicative of a respective quality of contact between each of the electrodes and the tissue over the period of time, and to output an indication of the metrics to a user of the system.

摘要: Systems and methods are described herein for determining whether cardiac conduction system pacing therapy may be beneficial and/or determining how proximal or distal a cardiac conduction system block may be using external cardiac signals. To do so, one or more left-sided metrics of electrical heterogeneity information may be generated based on left-sided surrogate cardiac electrical measured using a plurality of left external electrodes.

摘要: A system includes a sheet flexible material having a contact surface adapted to be placed on an outer surface of a patient's body. A plurality of sensing apparatuses have respective sensing surfaces distributed across the contact surface of the sheet. One or more of the sensing apparatuses include a multimodal sensing apparatus. Each multimodal sensing apparatus includes a monolithic substrate carrying a transducer, circuitry and an electrophysiological sensor. The transducer is coupled to the circuitry and configured to at least sense acoustic energy from a transducer location of the sheet. The electrophysiological sensor is also coupled to the circuitry, and the sensor is configured to at least sense electrophysiological signals from a sensor location of the sheet, in which the sensor location has a known spatial position relative to the transducer location.

摘要: Electrical activation of tissue can be mapped from using electrophysiological data from a plurality of electrodes carried by a high density grid catheter. Each clique of three or more electrodes will define a pair of orthogonal bipoles as well as several unipoles. An electroanatomical mapping system can analyze the electrophysiological data such that, for each clique, an integral of an omnipolar electrogram the best morphologically matches a representative (e.g., average) unipolar electrogram for the clique is identified. The orientation of the best-fit omnipole is then defined as the activation direction for the clique. The conduction velocity magnitude can also be computed as a ratio of an amplitude of the unipolar electrogram for the clique to an amplitude of the integral of the omnipolar electrogram for the clique along the activation direction. The resulting activation map can also be output graphically.

摘要: Systems, interfaces, and methods are described herein related to the evaluation of a patient's cardiac conduction system and evaluation of cardiac conduction system pacing therapy being delivered to the patient's cardiac conduction system. Evaluation of the patient's cardiac conduction system may utilize a plurality of breakthrough maps to determine where a cardiac conduction system block may be located. Evaluation of cardiac conduction system pacing therapy may utilize various electrical heterogeneity information monitored before and during delivery of cardiac conduction system pacing therapy.

摘要: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a fiber-optically enabled medical device system including an optical fiber and one or more conductive elements. The optical fiber is configured to determine a shape of the medical device as the device negotiates tortuous vascular pathways. The one or more conductive elements can be configured to transmit electrical signals there along between the distal tip and a console coupled to a proximal end of the medical device. The electrical signals can determine a location of a tip of the medical device, detect an electrophysiological signal at a distal tip, and/or provide electro-stimulation or ablation energy to the distal tip of the medical device. The one or more conductive elements can be a wire extending linearly or helically about the optical fiber, or can be a tube, or tube section, extending annularly about the optical fiber, or combinations thereof.

摘要: In some embodiments, there are provided systems, devices, components, and corresponding methods configured to permit navigation and/or positioning of an intra-cardiac electrophysiological (EP) mapping basket or other EP mapping structure of an EP mapping catheter inside or near an atrium or other heart chamber of a patient's heart using biosignals or intra-cardiac signals. In one embodiment, QRS complexes are extracted or isolated from intra-cardiac signals sensed by electrodes mounted on the EP mapping basket. Using the QRS complexes and a statistical shape or other model of the EP mapping basket or other type of EP mapping structure, one or more computing devices then determine the locations of the electrodes inside or near the patient's atrium that are associated with each isolated or extracted QRS complex, and thereby permit accurate navigation within the heart and/or processing of data acquired using the EP mapping basket or other EP mapping structure. The one or more computing devices can also be used to determine changes in the three-dimensional locations and orientations of the basket and the electrodes thereof as the EP mapping basket is moved around, in, or near the patient's atrium, heart chamber, or other portion of the patient's heart, and to display to a user multiple positions of the basket inside or near the patient's heart.
