Abstract: Edge application deployment in a network is provided. The network includes a plurality of edge sites with edge computing infrastructure. Edge application deployment is performed, including deploying a pseudo application instance (pApp) of the edge application at each edge site of a first group of edge sites of the plurality of edge sites, and deploying a real application instance (rApp) of the edge application at each edge site of a second group of one or more edge sites of the plurality of edge sites. The pApp is a lightweight, application-specific instance of the rApp with less application functionality than the rApp. Further, the first group of edge sites is larger than the second group, and a user device interaction with the edge application is through a selected pApp of the first group of edge sites to an rApp of the second group.

Abstract: Method and system for electrochemically compressing hydrogen. In one embodiment, the system includes a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) that includes a polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM), an anode, and a cathode. First and second gas diffusion media are positioned adjacent the cathode and anode, respectively. A humidifying membrane is positioned next to the second gas diffusion medium on a side opposite the anode. A water supply is connected to the humidifying membrane, and a hydrogen gas supply is connected to the second gas diffusion medium. A hydrogen gas collector including a back pressure regulator is connected to the first gas diffusion medium. Separators, positioned on opposite sides of the MEA, are connected to a power source. In use, hydrogen is electrochemically pumped across the MEA and collected in the hydrogen gas collector. The PEM is kept properly humidified by the humidifying membrane, which releases water into the second gas diffusion medium.

Abstract: Pipelines in operation specifically the ones operating under high pressures are subject to structural deficiencies therefore, they are susceptible to leakage. The present disclosure relates to a pipeline-leak-containment apparatus comprising an elongate tubular containment wall and at least a first clamp and a second clamp sealingly engaging a section of a pipe to form a sealed interstitial space between the elongate tubular containment wall and the pipe. The tubular containment wall comprises an inner layer, a reinforcement layer and an outer layer. Each clamp comprises an inner clamp, and an outer clamp, wherein at least the inner layer at each end of the elongate tubular containment wall is sealingly sandwiched between the inner clamp and the outer clamp of each clamp. Inner and outer clamps are split clamps that sealingly engage the pipe upon tightening of fastening members.

Abstract: The invention relates to a pneumatic-hydraulic back-flushing method according to claim 1 and a device for back-flushing fluid filters using an integrated hydro-dynamic cleaning process with a filter element (5) arranged in a housing (1) about a support body (9), wherein the housing (1) is designed in such a manner that a fluid inlet (7) and, preferably on the housing lid (2), a fluid outlet (7) are arranged in such a manner that the fluid flow flows through the filter element (5) from the outside to the inside in the filtering process, such that the support body (9) is closed on both sides and a supply pipe (3) is arranged in the interior of the support body (9) in such a manner that said support body projects from the housing lid (2) into the interior of the fluid filter and is open at the bottom, and said supply pipe (3) is arranged in a fluid guide pipe (4), wherein the fluid guide pipe (4) is closed by a base (6) and a compressed air connection (10) is preferably arranged in the housing lid (2) and the fluid flow in the filter process (16) adopts the direction of flow illustrated (16), wherein the fluid is guided through the filter element (5) and the support body (9) into the fluid guide pipe (4), which is open at the top and closed at the bottom, and is guided into the supply pipe (3), which is open at the bottom, in such a manner that said fluid flows to the fluid outlet (8), and for the cleaning process the fluid inlet (7), the fluid outlet (8) and the compressed air inlet (10) are operated by control elements such that the fluid adopts the direction of flow (17).
