摘要: Methods and apparatus are described for modifying unwanted tissue for cosmetic reasons. The methods provide a non-invasive manner to perform body contouring by destroying adipose tissue while simultaneously causing collagen contraction in a single procedure so that as destroyed tissue is removed from a treatment volume, the volume shrinks gradually to maintain the skin tone of the treatment area.

摘要: Apparatus (10) for securing sample collection, comprises an open-topped container (12), a lid (14) for securely covering the open-topped container (12) to prevent access to container contents, and first and second tamper-evident features (16, 18) each having a frangible portion (20, 22) which fractures in use to provide an indication of tampering with container contents when its respective tamper-evident feature is activated. The first and second tamper-evident features (16, 18) are independently-operable, with activation of the first tamper-evident feature (16) preventing activation of the second tamper-evident feature (18) until the frangible portion (20) of the first tamper-evident feature (16) is fractured. The second tamper evident feature (18) is operable without having to remove the fractured frangible portion (20) of the first tamper evident feature (16) from the apparatus (20).

摘要: One embodiment of the present invention includes an apparatus for applying a solution to a product. The apparatus may include a moving conveyor in part forming at least one pocket for receiving product, such as fruit and vegetables. The conveyor may be configured to move the product from a first position to a second position. The apparatus may also include at least one nozzle positioned between the first position and the second position. The at least one nozzle may be configured to deliver the solution into the pocket such that the product is immersed in and sprayed with the solution.

摘要: The apparatus is suited to reduce the friction between two bodies (1, 2) moving relative to each other. The two bodies (1, 2), which move relative to each other, can contact each other constantly or occasionally or have a small distance from one another of, for example, up to one millimeter. The distance can vary. With the relative movement of both bodies (1, 2), for example, the one body can be a sensor (1) which is firmly installed, and the second body can be a foil (2), which moves with considerably constant speed. The device has a vibration device (3, 4, 5, 6) for vibrating at least one of the bodies (1, 2). The vibration movements of the vibrated bodies can have any pattern.

摘要: A recovery chunk is generated based on information found in each chunk in a group of chunks. For example, the group of chunks includes three chunks of which information in the three chunks is used to generate a recovery chunk. The recovery chunk is then used to recover a single lost chunk in the group of chunks. The three chunks and the recovery chunk are sent to a receiver over a network. If one of the three chunks is lost, the recovery chunk is used to generate the lost chunk. The recovery chunk is used to recover a single lost chunk, however, the recovery chunk is not used to recover more than one lost chunk in the group. The number of chunks is also dynamically adjusted based on chunk loss at a receiver. This adjustment is based on the bandwidth used and reliability desired.

摘要: A field effect transistor (FET) is formed as follows. A trench is formed in a silicon region. An oxidation barrier layer is formed over a surface of the silicon region adjacent the trench and along the trench sidewalls and bottom. A protective layer is formed over the oxidation barrier layer inside and outside the trench. The protective layer is partially removed such that a portion of the oxidation barrier layer extending at least along the trench bottom becomes exposed and portions of the oxidation barrier layer extending over the surface of the silicon region adjacent the trench remain covered by remaining portions of the protective layer.
