Abstract: A support is coupled to an appliance to decrease warpage. The support may comprise a plurality of extensions coupled to the appliance to decrease warpage. The extensions can be coupled to the appliance at one or more of many locations, such as on an occlusal surface, a wall, an edge or an interior of the appliance. In some embodiments, the extensions are coupled to walls of the appliance such as a buccal wall and a lingual wall, and the extensions can be coupled to the walls of the appliance near edges of the walls, such as a gingivally facing edges of the walls that are oriented toward the gingiva when the appliance is worn.

Abstract: A system includes an intraoral scanner and a computing device. The intraoral scanner generates intraoral scans of a dental site. The computing device processes the intraoral scans using a trained machine learning model to classify points of the intraoral scans into first points having a first dental class and second points having a second dental class; generates a 3D model of the dental site from the intraoral scans; determines first points of the 3D model having the first dental class based on the first points of the intraoral scans and second points of the virtual 3D model having the second dental class based on the second points of the intraoral scans; and removes data for a plurality of the first points of the virtual 3D model having the first dental class to generate a modified virtual 3D model.

The apparatus may include a second appliance. The second appliance may include a second plurality of teeth receiving cavities, a third engagement structure that may include a third engagement surface to engage the first engagement surface, and a fourth engagement structure that may include a fourth engagement surface to engage the second engagement surface. The first and second engagement surfaces may be inclined with respect to the third and fourth engagement surfaces, respectively, to generate mandibular relocation forces and limit a lateral movement of the mandible.

In some embodiments, a system includes a build platform configured to receive a polymerizable composition, the polymerizable composition including a first polymerizable component and a second polymerizable component, the polymerizable composition characterized by an initial ratio of the first polymerizable component to the second polymerizable component. The system can also include a light source configured to form a portion of an orthodontic appliance from the polymerizable composition by: forming a first region by exposing the polymerizable composition to radiation, where the first region includes a first ratio of the first polymerizable component to the second polymerizable component, the first ratio being different from the initial ratio; and forming a second region, where the second region includes a second ratio of the first polymerizable component to the second polymerizable component, the second ratio being different from the initial ratio and the first ratio.

Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring a patient's teeth during orthodontic treatment, which may include the use of a series of appliances according to a corresponding series of treatment stages. The system may include a device in communication with one or more sensors of a first appliance implementing a particular treatment stage. The device may be configured to receive monitoring data corresponding to sensor data captured at the one or more sensors, where the sensor data is associated with at least one parameter related to a change in position or movement of the teeth. The device may further be configured to predict tooth positions or movements based on the sensor data, and compare the predicted tooth positions or movements to expected tooth positions or movements. The device may additionally be configured to determine that the first appliance should be replaced with a second appliance based on the comparison.

Abstract: A virtual filler is inserted in a virtual model of a dental site between a first tooth and a second tooth in the virtual model. One or more of the first tooth or the second tooth represent a natural tooth of a patient. Points of the first tooth, the second tooth and the virtual filler are transformed into a voxel volume. A geometry of an updated virtual filler is determined by transforming a surface of the voxel volume into a polygonal mesh.

Abstract: A method and/or system generates a video of teeth of an individual over time. In one example, images comprising teeth of an individual are received, wherein the images are arranged in a sequence and each image is associated with a different stage of treatment of the teeth. One or more of the images are modified and/or replaced to align the images to one another. One or more synthetic images are generated, wherein each synthetic image is generated based on a pair of sequential images in the sequence and is an intermediate image that comprises an intermediate state of the teeth between a first state of a first image of the pair of sequential images and a second state of a second image of the pair of sequential images. A video is then generated that comprises the images and the one or more synthetic images.
