An apparatus and method for determining feedback information detection in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. In the detection determining apparatus, a demodulator correlates each of tiles carrying received feedback information with an orthogonal vector including a pilot symbol in each possible codeword, each tile being a predetermined number of subcarriers, and calculates the squares of the absolute values of the correlations. A codeword correlation calculator sums the squares of the absolute value of the correlations of the tiles for each possible codeword. A detection decider determines whether to perform detection on the feedback information based on the maximum of the sums.

A method for transmitting control data on a downlink and/or uplink channel in a base station and/or mobile station in a mobile communication system. In one embodiment, the base station determines whether there is downlink channel data to transmit to a mobile station. If there is no data to be transmitted over the downlink channel for a predetermined time period, the base station drives a random gating position selector to determine a random gating slot position, gates on the control data at the determined slot position, and gates off the control data at other slot positions. The random position selector determines the gating slot position by calculating a value x by multiplying a system frame number (SFN) of a received signal by a specific integer; selecting n bits starting from a position which is at an x-chip distance from the start point of a scrambling code, which has a period equal to one frame, before a plurality of gating durations used in generating a downlink signal; and determining a gating slot position of a corresponding gating slot group by performing a modulo operation on the selected n bits, where the module operation is by the number of slots in a gating slot group.

A method and device for gating the transmission of dedicated control channels in a CDMA communication system is disclosed. In the device and method, if a base station (mobile station) determines whether there is no data to transmit to a mobile station (base station) for predetermined period of time, the base station (mobile station) gates transmission of control information according to a predetermined pattern on a dedicated control channel, which channel is used for transmitting control information to the mobile station (base station). Control information transmitted from the base station to the mobile station includes Transport Format Combination Indicator (TFCI), Transmit Power Control (TPC), and a pilot symbol. Control information transmitted from the mobile station to the base station includes TFCI, TPC, a pilot symbol, and FeedBack Information (FBI) for information about a transmit diversity antenna system. In a downlink DPCCH, transmission of the TFCI, TPC and pilot symbol is transmitted discontinuously at every predetermined nth slot out of the total slots of a frame during gated transmission. Alternatively, transmission of the pilot symbol can be transmitted discontinuously at every predetermined nth slot and the TFCI and the TPC at every (n+1)th slot. In an uplink DPCCH, the TFCI, TPC, FBI and pilot symbol are transmitted discontinuously at a specific slot during gated transmission. In addition, the TPC for power control can be continuously transmitted for full rate power control when there is traffic data for transmission.

According to the invention, source gases are injected from the upside of the wafers through the rotational type gas injector, and non-reacted gases are exhausted into the downside space of the wafers, so that lowering in the thickness uniformity of a thin film due to the horizontal flow of source gases provided in the conventional art decrease remarkably. Accordingly, although multiple wafers are loaded in a single reaction chamber, a thin film having very high thickness uniformity can be deposited with respect to all the wafers, thereby capable of enhancing the productivity.

When the channel encoder is used in the multicarrier CDMA communication system, the symbols outputted from multiple constituent encoders for the channel encoder are distributed to multiple carrier channels according to a predetermined rule, and the constituent encoders for the channel encoder can minimize the performance degradation of the overall channel encoder even though an output of a particular constituent encoder is completely off at the transmission channel.

A channel coder codes the bit-inserted data bit stream to generate coded symbols. A rate matcher matches a rate of the coded symbols to a given channel symbol rate. A channel interleaver interleaves the rate matched channel symbols. The rate matcher includes a puncturer for puncturing the inserted known bits included in the coded symbols when the coded symbol rate is higher than the given channel symbol rate. The rate matcher includes a repeater for repeating the coded symbols to match the coded symbol rate to the given channel symbol rate when the coded symbol rate is lower than the given channel symbol rate.
