Abstract:
An integrated circuit device is provided that has I/O bonding pads across the surface of the chip, where the I/O bonding pads can be electrically accessed via ancillary testing pads in order to perform functionality or other necessary tests prior to bump bonding formation without damaging the bonding pads or the underlying circuitry.
Abstract:
The disclosed photoresist process employs an i-line peak containing light source, such as that of the mercury spectrum, in conjunction with a dye capable of both absorbing i-line light and withstanding subsequent those baking procedures employed in producing portable-conforming-mask (PCM) photoetchings. Applicant has found that a series of butadiene or bromine substituted butadiene dyes in general, and N,N'-Dibutyl-N,N'-Di (1-(4,4-dicyano-1,3-butadiene))-1,6-hexanediamine, in particular, are particularly well suited to these purposes. Such dyes are most preferably used in conjunction with a second dye capable of absorbing of a non-i-line light source used to expose a bottom photoresist layer of a PCM system.
Abstract:
A vertebral facet distractor includes an elongated generally cylindrical contour including a first end surface, a second end surface, an outer sidewall, an inner sidewall, and a central lumen having an opening in one of the first end surface and the second end surface. The outer sidewall may be provided with a surface irregularity, such as a screw thread. The vertebral facet distractor may further include a holder including an elongated body and a tip that extends through the opening and is engaged with the contour. The tip may be provided with a screw thread that is engaged with the contour or may engage the contour in an interference fit.
Abstract:
A distractor includes a first plate and a second plate. The first plate includes an outer surface having a surface irregularity provided thereon and an inner surface having a protrusion provided thereon. The second plate includes an outer surface having a surface irregularity provided thereon and an inner surface having a recess provided thereon. The protrusion engages with the recess in a ball and socket configuration that permits relative movement of the first and second plates.
Abstract:
In a representative embodiment, an electronic transmitter comprises a signal source configured to provide an input signal comprising a plurality of frequency components; and a plurality of transducers each configured to receive the input signal and each configured to resonate substantially at one frequency of a subset of the plurality of frequency components. An electronic receiver, an acoustic transmitter and an acoustic receiver are also described.
Abstract:
A sleeve saver apparatus that is an elastomeric attachment for use with a cuff on a button-cuffed shirt and any apparel closure using a button/buttonhole closure. More particularly, the invention is directed toward modifying a traditional button-cuffed shirt so that the cuff has some elasticity to facilitate movement of the sleeve and securing it in a desired position, and lending elasticity to other apparel using button/buttonhole closures.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel donor-acceptor fluorene compounds, which can be used as for the fabrication of electroluminescent devices, and a process of preparing said novel compounds. More particularly, the present invention relates to amine donor and nitrile/ester acceptor fluorenes, fluorenones their π-conjugated systems and related compounds, processes for preparing the said compounds including oxidation of fluorenes to corresponding fluorenones and their use in preparing organic electronic devices such as organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), photovoltaic/solar cell, Field effect transistors and other useful electroluminescent devices. The compounds are prepared by reacting 2H-pyran-2-ones in isolated or rigid conformations with cyclic ketones containing methylene carbonyl moiety in the presence of a base in an organic solvent. The present invention also relates to a new concept and approach to overcome the problem of ‘Green emission defect’ in 9-unsubstituted fluorene-based organic light emitting diodes which occurs due to the conversion of fluorenes to fluorenones that show emission mainly in green-yellow region. In the present invention we have placed donor-acceptor substituents in such a way that donor-acceptor fluorenones show emission in the blue region (instead of green-yellow region) thus improving the blue color purity and overcoming the problem of green emission defect.
Abstract:
A slice manager module, in the operating system of a storage server, manages the virtual slicing of a mass storage device. The slice manager module receives a notification that a mass storage device has been added to an array of mass storage devices coupled to the storage system. The slice manager module reads header information in the mass storage device to determine a format of the mass storage device. If the mass storage device has not been previously sliced, the slice manager module virtually slices the mass storage device into a plurality of slices, where virtually slicing the mass storage device includes specifying an offset in the mass storage device where each of the plurality of slices is located.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system and method for virtual block numbers (VBNs) to disk block number (DBN) mapping that may be utilized for both single and/or multiple parity based redundancy systems. Following parity redistribution, new VBNs are assigned to disk blocks in the newly added disk and disk blocks previously occupied by parity may be moved to the new disk.
Abstract:
A device for treatment of spondylotic disease includes a distractor for distracting vertebral facets of first and second vertebrae located adjacent each other. The distractor includes a first abutment surface for interfacing with an inferior articular facet of the first vertebra. The distractor also includes a second abutment surface for interfacing with the superior articular facet of the second vertebra corresponding to the inferior articular facet of the first vertebra. The first and second abutment surfaces of the distractor engage with each other and are separated by a predetermined distance.
