    摘要: The present invention relates to a low pass filter including a wave plate capable of modulating incident light serving as image information such that A-polarized light and B-polarized light orthogonal to the A-polarized light are at an equivalent light quantity level over a visible light region, i.e., a transmittance takes a value close to 50%. According to the low pass filter of the present invention, it is possible to appropriately reduce a moiré phenomenon generated by an image sensor constituting the optical low pass filter including the above-described wave plate, and suppress degradation of an image quality caused by light quantity deflection of a separated light beam, and the low pass filter of the present invention is therefore useful.

    摘要: An optical head apparatus includes a light source and an objective lens focusing a light source light on an optical recording medium. Also included is a light detector receiving a return light, and a variable diffraction device including a first polarized light diffraction grating; and a second polarized light diffraction grating. Provided that a polarizing direction diffracted by the first polarized light diffraction grating is defined as a first polarizing direction and a polarizing direction that is orthogonal to the first polarizing direction and not diffracted by the first polarized light diffraction grating is defined as a second polarizing direction, a ratio obtained from dividing a diffraction efficiency in the second polarizing direction by a diffraction efficiency in the first polarizing direction, of the first polarized light diffraction grating, is 0 to 0.5, and a ratio obtained from dividing a diffraction efficiency in the first polarizing direction by a diffraction efficiency in the second polarizing direction, of the second polarized light diffraction grating, is 0 to 0.5.

    摘要: The present invention is to suppress deterioration of durability at the time when an optical component using a material optimized to be used in an optical path of a laser beam for performing reproduction/recording for a CD and a DVD is used in an optical head device using light sources including a blue semiconductor laser. A first transparent substrate 1 and a second transparent substrate 2 sandwich and hold therebetween a concave-convex portion 5 comprising a polymer liquid crystal, a filling adhesive 7 for filling the concave-convex, and a phase plate 6 having a retardation corresponding to ¼ of a wavelength used. An inorganic optical multilayer film 3 is formed on the whole surface of the first transparent substrate 1, on the side opposite to the concave-convex portion 5, and an inorganic optical multilayer film 4 is formed on the whole surface of the second transparent substrate 2, on the side opposite to the concave-convex portion 5. The formation of the optical multilayer film 4 reduces the intensity of light of 400 to 410 nm which enters the second transparent substrate 2 to 20% or less of that of light which enters the optical multilayer film.

    摘要: A precoding-multiplexing circuit is formed by a precoding circuit for carrying out a precoding with respect to n sets of parallel input binary data signals having a bit rate equal to R/n, to obtain n sets of parallel precoded signals, and a time division multiplexer for time division multiplexing the parallel precoded signals obtained by the precoding circuit, in units of one bit, and outputting time division multiplexed output signal having a bit rate equal to R. In this configuration, the encoding is realized by processing electric signals before the time division multiplexing, so that it becomes possible for the preceding circuit to handle signals which are slower than the transmission rate, and therefore it becomes easier to realize the higher transmission rate.
