    摘要: A set of iron golf clubs is disclosed, each golf club having a head configured to provide enhanced flexibility for launching a golf ball. An upper portion of the body of each head has a reduced stiffness, while a lower portion of the body is configured with recesses that provide reduced stiffness toward the heel and the toe. A low central region supports the head at impact with the golf ball. The relative stiffness in the lower portion of the club head, varying from heel to toe, is designed in conjunction with a top to bottom difference in stiffness. Thus, the golf club head has enhanced flexibility and selectively increased stiffness, for improved performance and feel.

    摘要: The invention relates to the use of scaffold proteins, particularly green fluorescent protein (GFP), in fusion constructs with random and defined peptides and peptide libraries, to increase the cellular expression levels, decrease the cellular catabolism, increase the conformational stability relative to linear peptides, and to increase the steady state concentrations of the random peptides and random peptide library members expressed in cells for the purpose of detecting the presence of the peptides and screening random peptide libraries. N-terminal, C-terminal, dual N- and C-terminal and one or more internal fusions are all contemplated. Novel fusions utilizing self-binding peptides to create a conformationally stabilized fusion domain are also contemplated.

    摘要: Disclosed is a large alloy forging and method for making it. The forging having an alloy composition selected from one of a nickel base alloy, a cobalt-chromium-nickel base alloy, a nickel-cobalt base alloy and an iron-nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy and having a grain size of ASTM grain size 4 or finer, as measured by ASTM method E112 and having a tensile strength in the range of 135 to 175 KSI. The process includes: (1) four upset forgings, (2) a rapid cooling after the final upset cooling, (3) a first and second upset forging with a reduction greater than 50%, (4) a third upset forging with a reduction greater than 25.%, and (5) a forging process with a fourth upset forging with a reduction greater than 50%.

    摘要: A can opener includes a pair of pivoted handle members (101), (102), associated with a drive wheel (108) and a cutting wheel (111), which are brought into a position to nip the rim of a can when the handles are closed. The nip on the can is not lost when the handle members are partially opened to an intermediate position. As shown the cutting wheel is pivotally mounted on a rotatable carrier (112) in the handle (101) and has a projection (104) entering a recess (105) in the handle (102). The recess allows the handle (102) to move between the closed and intermediate positions without disturbing the carrier (112). Closing the handle (102) drives a drive shaft (110) carrying the wheel (108) through gearing (153), (154), (155). A one-way clutch spring (116) slips when the handles open so that repeated opening and closing of the handles cuts round the can.
