Abstract: A motor controller having low standby power consumption is provided. The motor controller includes a direct current (DC) bus. The motor controller also includes a low-power supply. The motor controller also includes an inverter configured to control a supply of current to stator windings of a motor. The motor controller also includes a switch circuit coupled between the DC bus and the low-power supply. The motor controller also includes a switch controller coupled to the switch circuit and configured to be coupled to a system controller. The switch controller is configured to control the switch circuit to electrically decouple, in response to detecting an absence of a control signal from the system controller, the DC bus from the low-power supply.

Abstract: A motor controller for an electric motor for driving a blower to generate an airflow. The motor controller includes a processor and a drive circuit configured to regulate power supplied to the motor to turn the blower. The processor computes a system resistance for the blower based on a fixed set point for a first control parameter and a feedback parameter. The processor receives an airflow rate demand value and computes an operating set point for a second control parameter based on the system resistance and the airflow rate demand value. The processor controls the drive circuit based on the operating set point to supply electrical power to the electric motor and to operate the blower to generate the airflow.

Abstract: A motor controller and methods for operating a motor are described herein. The motor controller includes a high-frequency (HF) inverter having a direct current (DC) input stage and an alternating current (AC) output stage, the HF inverter operable at a switching frequency to generate a three-phase output having a fundamental frequency. The motor controller also includes a differential mode (DM) filter coupled in series with the output stage of the HF inverter and having a resonant frequency less than 10% of the switching frequency, the DM filter configured to reduce harmonic components of the three-phase output and generate a first filtered output. The motor controller further includes a common mode (CM) filter coupled in series with the DM filter, the CM filter configured to filter the first filtered output to generate a second filtered output having a reduced CM voltage to operate the electric motor with a reduced bearing current.

The motor controller also includes an energy management system configured to power the wireless receiver and the motion control MCU.

Abstract: An electric motor for use with a power supply includes a housing and a stator fixedly secured to the housing. The stator has a plurality of coils secured to the stator. The motor also includes a first rotor secured to the stator and having a first number of poles and a second rotor secured to the stator and having a second number of poles. The second number being different than the first number. The plurality of coils cooperates with the first rotor to rotate the first rotor at a first rotor rotational speed and the plurality of coils cooperates with the second rotor to rotate the second rotor at a second rotor rotational speed. The second rotor rotational speed is substantially different than the first rotor rotational speed.

Abstract: A dual-drive electric motor control system configured to drive a first electric motor and a second electric motor is provided.
