Abstract: A display device having both a touch detection function and a function of capturing an image of a shape of a fingerprint or a vein is provided. The display device includes a first substrate, a first light-emitting element, a second light-emitting element, a light-receiving element, a light-blocking layer, a first resin layer, and a second resin layer. The first light-emitting element and the light-receiving element are arranged over the first substrate, and the first resin layer is provided over the first light-emitting element and the light-receiving element. The light-blocking layer is provided over the first resin layer, and the second light-emitting element is provided over the light-blocking layer. The second resin layer is provided over the second light-emitting layer. The first light-emitting element emits visible light upward, and the second light-emitting element emits invisible light upward. The light-receiving element is a photoelectric conversion element having sensitivity to visible light and invisible light. In a plan view, the light-blocking layer includes a portion positioned between the first light-emitting element and the light-receiving element, and the second light-emitting element overlaps with the light-blocking layer and is positioned inside the outline of the light-blocking layer.

Abstract: A semiconductor device having a light sensing function and including a high-resolution display portion is provided. The semiconductor device includes a plurality of pixels, and the pixels each include first and second light-receiving devices, first to fifth transistors, a capacitor, and a first wiring. One electrode of the first light-receiving device is electrically connected to the first wiring, and the other electrode is electrically connected to one of a source and a drain of the first transistor. One electrode of the second light-receiving device is electrically connected to the first wiring, and the other electrode is electrically connected to one of a source and a drain of the second transistor. The other of the source and the drain of the second transistor is electrically connected to the other of the source and the drain of the first transistor. The other of the source and the drain of the first transistor is electrically connected to one electrode of the capacitor, one of a source and a drain of the third transistor, and a gate of the fourth transistor.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device with a high aperture ratio is provided. The pixel electrode is positioned over the second insulating layer, the third insulating layer is positioned over the pixel electrode, the common electrode is positioned over the third insulating layer, and the liquid crystal layer is positioned over the common electrode. The common electrode includes a region overlapping with the first conductive layer with the pixel electrode positioned therebetween. The pixel includes a first connection portion where the pixel electrode is electrically connected to the transistor and a second connection portion where the first conductive layer is electrically connected to the common electrode. The first conductive layer, the pixel electrode, and the common electrode each have a function of transmitting visible light.

The display device includes a substrate, an insulating layer, a plurality of transistors, and a plurality of light-emitting diodes. The plurality of light-emitting diodes are provided in a matrix over the substrate. Each of the plurality of transistors is electrically connected to at least one of the plurality of light-emitting diodes. The plurality of light-emitting diodes are positioned closer to the substrate than the plurality of transistors are. The plurality of light-emitting diodes emit light toward the substrate. Each of the plurality of transistors includes a metal oxide layer and a gate electrode. The metal oxide layer includes a channel formation region. The top surface of the gate electrode is substantially level with the top surface of the insulating layer.

Abstract: A novel functional panel that is highly convenient, useful, or reliable is provided. The functional panel includes a base material and a pair of pixels, and the base material covers the pair of pixels and has a light-transmitting property. The pair of pixels includes one pixel and another pixel, and the one pixel includes a light-emitting device and a first microlens. The light-emitting device emits light toward the base material, and the first microlens is interposed between the base material and the light emission and converges light. The first microlens includes a first surface and a second surface; the second surface is closer to the light-emitting device than the first surface is; and the second surface has a smaller radius of curvature than the first surface. The other pixel includes a photoelectric conversion device and a second microlens. The second microlens is interposed between the base material and the photoelectric conversion and converges external light incident from the base material side. The second microlens includes a third surface and a fourth surface; the third surface is closer to the photoelectric conversion device than the fourth surface is; and the fourth surface has a smaller radius of curvature than the third surface.

The pixel includes first to fourth transistors, a first capacitor, and a light-emitting element. One of a source and a drain of the first transistor is connected to the first wiring, and the other of the source and the drain of the first transistor is connected to a gate of the second transistor and to the first capacitor. The light-emitting element is connected to one of a source and a drain of the second transistor. The first wiring is supplied with a first data potential. The second wiring is supplied with a second data potential and a reset potential in different periods. The third transistor supplies the second data potential to the first capacitor. The common electrode overlaps with the conductive layer with the layer containing a liquid crystal material and the pixel electrode therebetween. The pixel includes a first connection portion where the conductive layer is electrically connected to the first transistor and a second connection portion where the pixel electrode is electrically connected to the second transistor. The conductive layer, the pixel electrode, and the common electrode each have a function of transmitting visible light.

Abstract: A semiconductor device including a biometric recognition function and a touch sensor or near touch sensor function is provided. The semiconductor device includes a light-emitting device and an imaging device. The imaging device includes a gate driver circuit and m rows of pixels (m is an integer more than or equal to 2). The gate driver circuit includes a plurality of first register circuits and second register circuits whose number is less than that of the first register circuits. The first register circuits are connected with each other in series and the second register circuits are connected with each other in series. The gate driver circuit has a function of operating in the first mode and the second mode. In the first mode, the first register circuits are in the on state and the second register circuits are in the off state, and in the second mode, the second register circuits are in the on state and the first register circuits are in the off state.
