Abstract:
A semiconductor integrated circuit has a chip check circuit for detecting cracks and other defects in the chip during operation. The chip check circuit extends in the chip from an input terminal to an output terminal so as to scan a predetermined wide area. The chip check circuit has at least one signal line extending near or within a circuit block in the chip so that the signal line can be broken together with the circuit block. The chip check circuit may further comprise one or more inverters, and/or one or more two-wire logic circuits.
Abstract:
An equipment for displaying a specification of behavior of a real time system includes a program memory for storing a plurality of program objects for simulating operations of objects indicative of an arrangement of the real time system and a plurality of graphical symbol objects for expressing operational states of the objects and relationships between the objects in the form of a graphical symbol representation on a display screen. In the equipment, the plurality of program objects are linked with the plurality of symbol objects through an inter-program communication control routine. Each of the program objects, when receiving a message from the communication control routine, is executed for simulation operation according to the received message to thereby generate a new message to be sent to the associated program routine and a new message indicative of an object state change to be sent to one of the symbol objects corresponding to the associated object. Each of the symbol objects, when receiving the message from the communication control routine, is executed to change a display state of one of symbols corresponding to the associated symbol object on the display screen.
Abstract:
A fuel injection pump includes a reciprocating plunger and a control sleeve slidably fitted over the plunger, the prestroke of which is varied by vertical movement of the control sleeve. The control sleeve is provided at its upper end with a fuel discharge groove, through which the fuel contained in a fuel-pressurizing chamber is discharged after the end of injection. The control sleeve also has to pressure escape passage. A variation in the effective stroke allows the pressure of fuel contained in the fuel-pressurizing chamber to be selectively regulated by the pressure escape passage, thereby controlling the pressure of fuel to be injected.
Abstract:
When receiving a traffic information providing request, a traffic information providing apparatus analyzes which area's traffic information is requested based on the received request information. Traffic information of road links located in the requested area is read from the traffic information, and it is determined whether the road links' traffic information is similar or not. Similar links configure a link group, and traffic information corresponding to the link group is created. Traffic information of the configured link group is delivered to an in-vehicle information apparatus.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for forming an electrode of a flat panel display device using ink for ink jet printing and an ink jet printer. The ink for ink jet printing is prepared by a method comprising the first step of contacting the vapor of a metal with the vapor of the first solvent, according to the vapor phase-evaporation technique, to thus give a dispersion of metal ultrafine particles; the second step of adding a low molecular weight polar solvent as the second solvent to the dispersion prepared in the first step to thus precipitate the metal ultrafine particles and removing the first solvent; and the third step of adding the third solvent to the precipitates thus prepared to carry out the solvent substitution and to give a dispersion of independently dispersed metal ultrafine particles, and prepared by adding a dispersant in or during the foregoing first and/or third steps, and the ink for ink jet printing consists of a dispersion excellent in ink characteristic properties. In the dispersion, metal ultrafine particles having a particle size of not more than 100 nm are independently and uniformly dispersed. The electrodes of FPD devices are formed using this ink for ink jet printing.
Abstract:
An exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine is provided with a main catalyst activated with heat of exhaust gas, a self-exothermic type auxiliary catalyst activated with electric current energy and a silencer, which are connected in series and in sequence from an upstream side to a downstream side in an exhaust system leading from an engine body. Thus, noxious components included in the exhaust gas can be converted and the gas is purified by using the main and auxiliary catalysts in combination but with the auxiliary catalyst being subject to less heat from the exhaust gas than the main catalyst.
Abstract:
A circuit for detecting an abnormal transmission state on a signal transmission line, the abnormal state being such that a short-circuit or open-circuiting occurs in the signal transmission line, applicable to a time-division multiplex transmission network system having an address clock line and a data transmission line. The circuit includes a first latch circuit, which is set by a trailing edge of a data receivable interval specification pulse to a state indicating no presence of the specification pulse, wherein the specification pulse is derived from an address coincidence circuit constituting one data receiver of the network system. The first latch circuit latches the state of presence or absence of the specification pulse on a trailing edge of a start bit constituting data to be received. The circuit further includes a second latch circuit which is initially set to a state indicating the state of the presence of the specification pulse and which latches the state of presence or absence of the specification pulse latched in the first latch circuit at a time when a duration of the specification pulse continues and which operates with a slight delay with respect to the appearance of the trailing edge of the start bit on the data transmission line.
