摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes a pair of opposite substrates, and a liquid crystal layer as a display medium disposed between said substrates. 摘要： A liquid crystal display device is provided with a switching element in neighborhoods of crossing points of a gate wiring and a data wiring. An interlayer insulating film is provided on the switching element. A pixel electrode connected with the switching element is provided on the interlayer insulating film. Moreover, a spacer for keeping a thickness of a liquid crystal layer constant is disposed in the liquid crystal layer and in a sealing member for sealing the liquid crystal layer. Materials of the interlayer insulating film and spacers are optimized. This configuration prevents degradation of a defective ratio and reliability due to the spacer disposed in the liquid crystal layer sinking into the interlayer insulating film.

摘要： A method for producing a substrate of a reflection type liquid crystal display device is provided. The method includes the steps of: forming the input portion for inputting a signal from outside and the connecting electrode on the substrate on which the reflective electrode is formed; forming a protective film on the connecting electrode; forming an interlayer insulator under the condition that the protective film on the connecting electrode is exposed; patterning the interlayer insulator; forming a reflective electrode film on the interlayer insulator; patterning the reflective electrode film to form the reflective electrode; and removing the protective film on the connecting electrode to expose the connecting electrode.

A spare wiring is formed on each source signal line or gate signal line so that the spare wiring intersects only a non-input end of each source signal line or of each gate signal line. A corrective signal supplying circuit for supplying a corrective signal of display data or a corrective signal of the control signal for controlling picture element TFTs is provided to the outside of the display section. As a result, a line breakdown can be completely corrected.

摘要： A signal line and a pixel capacitor wire that doubles as a pixel capacitor electrode are fabricated parallel to each other from the same electrode layer through patterning thereof. Therefore, no additional steps are required to form the pixel capacitor wire. In such an arrangement, the pixel capacitor wire and the signal line are disposed parallel to each other; therefore, delays of signal transmission in the signal line and crosstalk between pixels are prevented from occurring. The active matrix substrate incorporating this arrangement is suitably used in liquid crystal display devices, image sensors, and the like. Similar advantages are available with an arrangement in which the signal line and the pixel capacitor wire are disposed parallel to each other, and the storage capacitor electrode, which will constitute a storage capacitor with the pixel electrode therebetween, and the scanning line are fabricated from the same electrode layer through patterning thereof.
