Abstract: A video probe is disclosed herein that includes an elongated probe including an articulating portion, and a controller functionally coupled with the elongated probe. The articulating portion may include at least two interconnected links and each link may include opposing electromagnetic coils disposed within the link. The controller may be configured to stimulate the opposing electromagnetic coils to attract/repulse corresponding opposing electromagnetic coils of an adjoining link thereby causing the link to pivot about the axis of the single-axis joint.

Abstract: A motor-driven articulated haptic interface arm includes: a frame; an arm linked to the frame and rotationally mobile about an axis; and a motor, which delivers at least one torque about the axis countering at least one part of forces applied to the arm by its environment. A main transmission transmits the torque to the arm and includes a capstan-type cable reducer, and an auxiliary transmission transmits the torque to the arm. The auxiliary transmission is capable of taking at least two states: an inactive state, when the forces applied to the arm by its environment are below a predetermined threshold, in which the auxiliary transmission transmits no torque to the arm; and an active state when the forces applied to the arm by its environment are higher than a predetermined threshold, in which the main transmission transmits no torque to the arm.

Abstract: A support device includes a supporting main body, a first angle rotation unit, a second angle rotation unit, a height adjustment structure, an absorbing unit and a driver motor unit. The absorbing unit is pivotally connected to the first angle rotation unit. The driver motor unit includes a first driving element, a second driving element and a third driving element. The first driving element drives the first angle rotation unit to adjust a rotation angle of the absorbing unit. The second driving element drives the second angle rotation unit for enabling the supporting main body to rotate around an axial thereof. The third driving element drives the height adjustment structure for enabling the supporting main body to move along the axial thereof. In addition, an support unit system and a support unit control system are also provided.

An airgap is provided between the first carrier and the second carrier. The electromagnetic elements of the first carrier include posts, with slots between the posts, one or more electric conductors in each slot, the posts of the first carrier having a post height in mm. The first carrier and the second carrier together define a size of the electric machine. The magnetic poles having a pole pitch in mm. The size of the motor, pole pitch and post height are selected to fall within a region in a space defined by size, pole pitch and post height that provides a benefit in terms of force or torque per weight per excitation level.

Abstract: A piezoelectric driving device includes a vibrating plate, and a piezoelectric vibrating body including a substrate, and piezoelectric elements provided on the substrate.
