Abstract:
To provide a device associated with at least one means of transport, in particular at least one motor vehicle, for the detection, in particular intuitive detection, of the operating and/or system states of at least one assistance/support system for the lateral guidance of the means of transport, in which the acceptance of the assistance/support system is increased, for example in such a way that the response of the system may be readily assessed at any time by the driver of the means of transport, at least one display element is provided for displaying the particular operating and/or system state.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for driver assistance, in which a distinction is made, with the aid of operating variables and a classifier, between an intentional and unintentional lane change by the vehicle.
Abstract:
A method and a system for automatically detecting unintended lane departures of vehicles arc described. A lane departure warning system comprises a lane departure recognition unit (10), an alarm generation unit (12), and a driver activity monitoring unit (14). The driver activity monitoring unit (14) is configured to monitor one or more vehicle-related parameters like the steer angle that change continuously in response to a control intervention of a driver. The alarm generation unit (12) generates an alarm if an actual or forthcoming lane departure is detected and if additionally an evaluation of the one or more parameters indicates a low or no driver activity.
Abstract:
In lane keep control apparatus and method for an automotive vehicle, a traveling state of the vehicle is detected, a determination is made on whether the vehicle has a tendency of a deviation from the traveling traffic lane according to the detected traveling state, a deviation avoidance control is executed for the vehicle in a direction to avoid the deviation according to the traveling state, steering angles before and after a start of the deviation avoidance control are detected, and a controlled variable of the deviation avoidance control is detected on the basis of a deviation between a steering angle before the start of deviation avoidance control and that after the start of deviation avoidance control when a determination is made that the vehicle has the tendency of the deviation.
Abstract:
An imaging system for a vehicle includes an imaging sensor and a control. The imaging sensor is operable to capture an image of a scene occurring exteriorly of the vehicle. The control receives the captured image, which comprises an image data set representative of the exterior scene. The control may apply an edge detection algorithm to a reduced image data set of the image data set. The reduced image data set is representative of a target zone of the captured image. The control may be operable to process the reduced image data set more than other image data, which are representative of areas of the captured image outside of the target zone, to detect objects present within the target zone. The imaging system may be associated with a side object detection system, a lane change assist system, a lane departure warning system and/or the like.
Abstract:
A method and a device for driver information and for a reaction upon leaving the traffic lane by a vehicle. In this context, the course of at least one edge marking of the traffic lane is ascertained, the track of the vehicle that is to be expected is determined, and as a function of these variables the possible leaving of the traffic lane by the vehicle is ascertained. In the determination of the track of the vehicle, future reactions of the driver are taken into consideration.
Abstract:
The front scenery of a vehicle is imaged as a picture by a CCD camera. The number of pixels in each horizontal line necessary for traveling of the vehicle is stored, and it is determined whether the vehicle can pass through by a parking vehicle based on a ratio of the number of pixels of the road where no vehicle is parking in the image to the number of pixels of each horizontal line based on the width of the vehicle.
Abstract:
A vehicle warning system includes a vehicle having first and second outer zones and a passenger compartment. A first active safety system monitors the first outer zone and generates first warning signals. A second active safety system monitors the second outer zone and generates second warning signals. A vehicle audio output device includes a plurality of speakers that are located in the vehicle passenger compartment. The first warning signals are output to a one or more of said speakers of the vehicle audio output device at a first frequency. The second warning signals are output one or more of said speakers of the vehicle output audio device at a second frequency.
Abstract:
A vehicle control device incorporating an electric power steering is provided, wherein an extraordinary yaw motion acting on a vehicle is detected and is suppressed or moderated, so that the stability of the vehicle in a straight-ahead steering is improved. The causes of the extraordinary yaw motion are one of lateral wind, asymmetrical surface state of the road, lateral slant of the road and the like. A countermeasure against the extraordinary yaw motion is taken by applying a counter (opposite direction) yaw motion on the vehicle or switching over the control mode from a proportional control to a proportional integral control.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus is provided with: an image taking device (19) for taking an image in a forward direction of a movable body and outputting an image signal corresponding to the taken image; a movement vector detecting device (18, 24) for detecting a movement vector for each area of the image taken by the image taking device, on the basis of the image signal while the movable body is moving; and a distance calculating device (18, 25) for setting a standard line at a predetermined image position crossing a road edge with respect to the image taken by the image taking device, and calculating the distance to the road edge on the basis of a distribution of the movement vector on the standard line.
