    摘要: A cam lobe of a camshaft has a base circle portion and a lifting lobe portion. A camshaft journal of the camshaft has first and second bearing portions that bear reaction forces from the base circle portion and the lifting lobe portion, respectively. The first bearing portion has an axial width smaller than that of the second bearing portion with at least a portion of an axial end surface of the first bearing portion facing the cam lobe being disposed away from the cam lobe relative to an axial end surface of the second bearing portion. The base circle portion has an axial width smaller than that of the lifting lobe portion with at least a portion of an axial end surface of the base circle portion facing the camshaft journal being disposed away from the camshaft journal relative to an axial end surface of the lifting lobe portion.

    摘要: A rotary piston machine has a housing in which are arranged at least two pistons which are able to revolve together in the housing about an axis of rotation which is fixed with respect to the housing, the pistons being mounted slidingly in a piston cage which is mounted in the housing and revolves together with the pistons about the axis of rotation, the two pistons executing mutually opposing reciprocating motions while revolving about the axis of rotation in order alternately to increase and decrease the volume of a working chamber defined by end faces oriented towards one another of the two pistons and by the piston cage, the axis of rotation passing through the working chamber and the piston cage having a gas exchange opening for admitting and discharging gas to and from the working chamber. The gas exchange opening is arranged on the axis of rotation and a closing member is arranged in the gas exchange opening, which is connected to the piston cage in a rotationally fixed manner with respect to the axis of rotation and is axially movable relative to the piston cage in the direction of the axis of rotation in order to open and close the gas exchange opening, there being present a control mechanism for the closing member which derives the axial motion of the closing member from the rotary motion of the closing member about the axis of rotation.

    摘要: A gas turbine generally exhibits a substantial deterioration in efficiency against fluctuation of gas flow rate. A variable nozzle turbine is a solution for this disadvantage; however, it has also another disadvantage of low efficiency under partial load conditions and a large number of heat-resistant moving components. A variable nozzle number turbine according to this invention overcomes these disadvantages. The turbine includes nozzles for injecting gas to rotor blades. The nozzles include inlet ports circumferentially arranged so as to be grouped into a group and an opening and closing valve disposed thereover so as to be commonly functioned therefore. This arrangement realizes a gas turbine with no deterioration of efficiency against fluctuation of gas inflow rate by only one heat-resistant moving component additionally installed. The variable nozzle number turbine according to this invention also realizes a turbine compressor with no surge limit when used as a regenerator. These turbines further realizes a small-sized gas turbine with improved fuel economy under partial load conditions and a turbocharger for regenerating electric power as well as improving efficiency of a displacement engine used therewith. It is to be noted that the inventor is ready for grant of working license.

    摘要: A system for actuating an engine valve is disclosed. The system may include a lost motion housing having two spaced collars surrounding a rocker shaft. The lost motion housing may include an internal hydraulic circuit connecting a master piston bore with a slave piston bore. The lost motion housing may include a means for securing the lost motion housing in a fixed position relative to the rocker shaft. A master piston may be disposed in the master piston bore and a slave piston may be disposed in the slave piston bore. A rocker arm may be disposed on the rocker shaft between the spaced collars and may have a first portion adapted to contact a cam and a second portion adapted to contact the master piston. In a preferred embodiment, the system may be used to provide compression release engine braking or bleeder engine braking.

The valve lifts of the first and second engine valves are different from each other when the control mechanism performs minimum lift control on the valve lift mechanism to control the valve lifts of the first and second engine valves to minimum lifts.
