Abstract:
A system includes sensors for transmitting data on a low power and/or short range transmission link, and one or more coordinators in wireless communication with the sensors. The coordinators convert signals received via the low power and/or short range transmission link to a longer range transmission link. A base station is in wireless communication with the coordinators via the longer range transmission link so that data generated by the sensors is transferred to the base station via the coordinators.
Abstract:
A method of using a thermocouple is provided. The method includes, but is not limited to, disposing at least one temperature sensor at each of two or more respective portions of an electrical connector adapted to receive thermocouple signals, measuring temperatures at the two or more portions, and calculating the temperatures at each terminal of the electrical connector based on measured temperature values of the two or more respective portions having the disposed temperature sensors. The method also includes, but is not limited to, calculating a cold junction temperature of a terminal for at least one thermocouple channel carrying the thermocouple signals based on measured or calculated temperature values of the terminals, or a combination thereof.

A system for fire prevention in electrical installations having one or more temperature sensors arranged in or close to positions in the electrical installation that are to be monitored. One or more electromagnetic signal transmitters are connected to the temperature sensors, one or more electromagnetic signal readers are adapted to communicate with and receive signals from the signal transmitters, and a processing unit is connected to the signal reader for processing the signals and providing an indication signal.
Abstract:
A temperature change detection apparatus for monitoring temperature change in various portions of a large space includes a trip logic unit configured to execute a trip operation based on receipt of a trip signal at the trip logic unit; a plurality of temperature sensors each including a sensing portion composed of optical fiber cable and each being configured to generate light information indicating an amount of Brillouin scattering that occurs within the sensing portion; a plurality of monitoring units configured such that each monitoring unit determines a temperature value corresponding to each temperature sensor connected to the monitoring unit based on an amount of Brillouin scattering indicated by the light information generated by each of the connected temperature sensors, an each monitoring unit generates a trip signal when a determined temperature value exceeds a running average by more than a threshold amount.
Abstract:
Embodiments relate to a method and apparatus for investigating the uniformity of concrete and/or grout. Embodiments can identify the existence of one or more anomalies in the uniformity of concrete and/or grout, and/or determine or estimate the size, shape, type, and/or location of one or more anomalies in the uniformity of concrete and/or grout. Embodiments can utilize a string of temperature measuring sensors placed within one or more access bore(s), such as tube(s), positioned at least partially within the concrete and/or positioned proximate the concrete. The measurements obtained from the temperature measuring sensors can then be used to assist in the identification of existence of, size of, type of, shape of, and/or location of anomalies in the concrete and/or grout.
Abstract:
A power socket temperature alarm device includes a casing, a power socket module received in the casing, a plurality of temperature detection elements, a processing circuit module, at least a lighting alarm element, and at least a sound alarm element. The temperature detection elements are set in contact with the power socket module and the temperature detection elements are in information connection with the processing circuit module. The processing circuit module is operatively connected with the lighting alarm element (for indicating the site of a hazard) and the sound alarm element (for giving off a signal of the hazard). When the power socket module receives a plug inserted therein and supplies electrical power thereto, the temperature will be gradually increased and the temperature detection elements are separately activated. Status variation of the temperature detection elements activates the processing circuit module to give off flashing light and mutually different sounds.
Abstract:
A machine for producing and/or processing a fiber web, in particular a tissue web, includes a press roll and a mating roll which forms a nip with the press roll and the circumferential surface of which has a contour running in the cross-machine direction which, during operation of the machine, changes as compared with when the machine is at a standstill. The press roll has a roll core and a roll cover surrounding the roll core. Multiple pressure and/or temperature sensors are disposed in the roll cover and/or between the roll core and the roll cover. The pressure and/or temperature sensors are spaced apart differently far from one another in the cross-machine direction of the press roll, at least in some areas.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, and systems are provided for measuring the supply of a consumable product/energy source, such as electrical power, to a facility over time and analyzing the measurements to determine the consumption or supply of the product by one or more loads and/or sources in the facility, and to determine induced and residual heat flow through the facility's envelope. Various aspects compare the measured supply of the consumable product to a database of consumption signatures, which characterize access to the consumable product by particular users. Operating conditions and facility characteristics, such as temperatures, load factors, insulation factors, etc., may be further considered in determining a particular user's access of the consumable product. To aid in the controlling of energy use, thermal resistance factors of the building are determined, which are based on the induced and residual heat flow through the facility.
