摘要： Polymers of one or more radical polymerisable monomers which polymer has pendant groups bearing a centre of permanent positive charge and other pendant groups capable of stably binding the polymer to a surface are useful in the treatment of surfaces to render them biocompatible. The polymers may contain pendant groups which bind the polymer to a surface by physisorption, covalent bonding or ionic interactions. Additionally reactive groups in the polymer may serve as points for attachment of ligands to the polymer when coated on a surface.

摘要： A ultraviolet-curable coating composition is disclosed, which comprises a specific ultraviolet-curable polyfunctional (meth)acrylate, a specific urethane-curing polymer, and a specific polyisocyanate compound in a specific compounding ratio and having incorporated therein a photo stabilizer and a photopolymerization initiator. The composition provides a coating film of large thickness in one operation and is sufficiently cured even with non-uniform ultraviolet radiation and the coating film obtained from such a composition fully satisfies various requirements, such as appearance, adhesion, and weathering resistance.

摘要： The invention relates to formation of a resin film excellent in adhesion with metal or other material and also excellent in alkaline resistance. The invention presents a water-based resin dispersion having an acid value of 0 to 15 obtained by emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture comprising, in 100 parts by weight of .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated monomer, (1) 1 to 20 parts by weight of .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated monomer with a .beta.-ketoester group, (2) 0.05 to 5 parts by weight of crosslinking .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated monomer with two or more radically polymerizable groups, and (3) the rest of other .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated monomer than (1) and (2), by using a radically polymerizable emulsifier at a ratio of 0.2 to 10 parts by weight against the total of 100 pats by weight of the .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated monomer.

摘要： A binder for use in high gloss latex paints comprises water, a copolymer, and less than about 1 weight percent surfactant. The copolymer comprises about 25 to about 60 weight percent soft monomer, about 40 to about 75 weight percent hard monomer, and about 1 to about 3 weight percent olefinic carboxylic acid monomer. In addition, the copolymer comprises about 0.5 to about 3 weight percent copolymerizable surfactant monomer and/or (i) about 0.5 to about 4 weight percent additional monomer selected from the group consisting of cyanoacetoxy-containing monomers and acetoacetoxy-containing monomers and (ii) about 0.5 to about 3 weight percent ethyleneureido-containing monomer.
