Abstract:
Disclosed is a transgenic Drosophila model of human papillomavirus-mediated cancer. Also disclosed is a method for screening a candidate therapeutic for Human papillomavirus-induced cell transformation and a method for screening a candidate therapeutic for Human papillomavirus-induced cell transformation.
Abstract:
Activatable compositions that include at least one functional moiety and at least one cleavable linker directly or indirectly linked to the at least one functional moiety are disclosed. The at least one functional moiety is inactive when linked to the linker and activated upon cleavage of the linker. Methods of production and use of the activatable composition are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Compositions, methods, and systems are disclosed for the development and use of heparosan as a therapeutic modifying agent or vehicle which can modulate drug cargo pharmacokinetics and behavior within a mammalian patient.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides methods, tools, kits and electronic systems for transcribing non-Chinese language sounds into sound-associated Chinese language characters. The methods, tools, kits and systems use language devices (dictionaries and blocks) based on sound-associated Chinese characters obtained by parsing standard Chinese characters sounds into consonant sounds and vowel sounds which have correspondence to certain standard phonetic graphemes. Sequences of the sound-associated Chinese characters provide existing Chinese phonemes which represent specific sound sequences and syllables in the non-Chinese language.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for sharing data between a first node and second node are disclosed. The methods may include sharing a first initialization vector between a first node and a second node using a multi-stage cryptography protocol. A first bit stream of first information may be passed from the first node to the second node using a single-stage cryptography protocol that encodes a message with the first initialization vector.
Abstract:
Biomaterial compositions that include an isolated heparosan polymer are disclosed, as well as kits containing such biomaterial compositions and methods of producing and using such biomaterial compositions.
Abstract:
The presently disclosed inventive concept(s) include inhibitors of antiplasmin cleaving enzyme (APCE) and fibroblast activation protein alpha (FAP) which can be used in various therapies related to disorders of fibrin and α2-antiplasmin and abnormal cell proliferation. The presently disclosed inventive concept(s) also include substrates of APCE and FAP, which may be used, for example, in screening methods for identifying such inhibitors. The presently disclosed inventive concept(s) further include, but are not limited to, methods of treating or inhibiting atherosclerosis and thrombus disorders by altering the ratios of types of plasma α2-antiplasmin and to methods of treating conditions involving abnormal cell proliferation such as cancers.
Abstract:
A fatty acid composition comprising at least one purified very long chain saturated fatty acid (VLC-SFA) having a chain length in a range of from about 28 carbons to about 40 carbons which is conjugated to a carrier molecule, forming a VLC-SFA-carrier conjugate. Nutritional supplements containing the fatty acid compositions, and methods of producing and using the fatty acid compositions, are also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention provides sulfur- or selenium-containing compounds comprising hydrophobic moieties and ethoxylated ester or ethoxylated amide moieties such that the compounds have surfactant properties. Also provided are methods for using the disclosed compounds or mixtures thereof in a variety of applications.
