Optics are prevented from becoming damaged by feedback light reflecting when generating the high-density plasma in a laser-driven radiation generating system and returning back to the upstream of the laser system.

A nuclear fusion device 1 of the present invention includes a nuclear fusion target 7 including a target substrate 7a containing deuterium or tritium and a thin-film layer 7b containing deuterium or tritium stacked on the target substrate 7a, a vacuum container 5 for storing the nuclear fusion target 7, and a laser unit 3 for irradiating two successive first and second pulsed laser lights P1, P2 toward the thin-film layer 7b of the nuclear fusion target 7, and the intensity of the first pulsed laser light P1 is set to a value that is smaller than that of the second pulsed laser light P2 and allows peeling of the thin-film layer 7b from the target substrate 7a.

The solid-state laser module includes a vacuum container with windows, and a heat sink, a solid-state laser medium, and a pair of transparent members are housed in the vacuum container in an integrally assembled state. The solid-state laser medium and the pair of transparent members respectively have disk shapes, and the pair of transparent members sandwich the solid-state laser medium. The thermal conductivity of each of the pair of transparent members is higher than the thermal conductivity of the solid-state laser medium. The heat sink has a shape that simultaneously clamps portions of the pair of transparent members that sandwich the solid-state laser medium in between, and a heat insulating region, with a thermal conductivity that is lower than the thermal conductivity of the solid-state laser medium, is provided between the heat sink and the solid-state laser medium.

A light emitting device (10) comprises a β-FeSi2 film (2) provided on a front surface of a Si substrate (1), first electrode (3) provided on a rear-surface side of the Si substrate (1), second electrodes 4 provided on a front-surface side of the β-FeSi2 film (2). The β-FeSi2 film (2) has the conductivity different from that of Si substrate (1). Between the Si substrate (1) and β-FeSi2 film (2), a pn junction is formed. The β-FeSi2 film (2) functions as a luminescent layer. Its luminescence properties are not influenced very much by the type and purity of the substrate.
