Abstract:
A bearing assembly for a vehicle wheel with a sensor in which load acting on the bearing assembly and/or a tread surface is accurately detected is provided. The bearing assembly includes rolling elements between outer and inner members, a load detecting device in one of the outer and inner members provided as a stationary member, for detecting load acting on the bearing assembly, a rotation detecting device for detecting the rotation of the other member provided as a rotating member, an averaging circuit for calculating rotational speed of the rotating member from output of the rotation detecting device, determining from the calculated rotational speed a time period required for the rolling elements to revolve a pitch of arrangement thereof and calculating average value of output of the load detecting device during the period, and an estimating circuit for estimating the load from the average value.

A sensor-incorporated wheel support bearing assembly including double rows of rolling elements interposed between respective raceways of outer and inner members opposed to each other, a to-be-detected ring having an eccentric or multangular outer diametric shape provided in the inner member and displacement sensors provided on the outer member confronting the to-be-detected ring. In the bearing assembly, the displacement sensors have facing portion areas, variable and invariable, respectively, arranged with rotation of the to-be-detected ring.

The air cycle refrigerating/cooling system compresses air that has flown in with a compressor (6) in a turbine unit (5) and adiabatically expands the air with an expansion turbine (7) in a turbine unit (5). In the turbine unit (5), a compressor rotor (6a) of the compressor (6) and a turbine rotor (7a) of the expansion turbine (7) are attached to the same main shaft (13), the main shaft (13) is supported by bearings (15) and (16) so as to be freely rotatable, and part or the entirety of the thrust force applied to this main shaft (13) is supported by an electromagnet (17).

A compressor rotor 6a and a turbine rotor 7a are respectively attached at either end of the main shaft 13 so that the compressor rotor 6a is driven by the power generated by the turbine rotor 7a. The main shaft 13 is supported by rolling contact bearings 15 and 16 relative to the radial direction. The thrust force applied to the main shaft 13 is supported by electromagnets 17. A sensor 18 is provided to detect the thrust force which affects the main shaft 13 through air within the compressor 6 and the expansion turbine 7. In the sensor 18, sensor elements having the properties changeable in accordance with a pressing force and capable to electrically detect the change in the properties are arranged in a circumferential direction of the main shaft. The sensor 18 detects the thrust force from the output of the sensor elements.

A centrifugal blood pump apparatus has a centrifugal pump section including an impeller having a first magnetic material therein and rotating inside the housing to feed a fluid by a centrifugal force generated during a rotation thereof; an impeller rotational torque generation section having a rotor having a magnet for attracting the first magnetic material of the impeller thereto, and a motor for rotating the rotor; and a dynamic pressure groove formed at a portion, of an inner surface of the housing, located at a rotor-disposed side thereof. The centrifugal blood pump apparatus further includes an electromagnet for attracting the impeller in a direction opposite to a direction in which the magnet of the rotor attracts the impeller and helping the impeller levitate.

An electric vehicle includes an in-wheel motor drive system. The in-wheel motor drive system includes a wheel bearing unit rotatably supporting a drive wheel, a motor unit, and a reducer unit. The electric vehicle also includes a disturbance observer that determines an estimate of external force influence on the drive wheel. The electric vehicle further includes a slip level-responsive corrector. The slip level-responsive corrector may use the estimate of external force influence, calculate a correction value that may correspond to slip level of the drive wheel, and correct an accelerator signal to the motor unit with the correction value to produce a motor torque command value.
