    摘要: A peer-to-peer (P2P) network for providing real time media recommendations is provided. The media recommendations may be song recommendations or video recommendations. Each time a media presentation is played by a peer device, the peer device provides a recommendation identifying the media presentation to other peer devices in the P2P network. A peer device having received recommendations from the other peer devices in the P2P network then programmatically, or automatically, selects a next media presentation to play from the media presentations recently played by the other peer devices and one or more locally stored media presentations. If the selected media presentation is not stored locally by the peer device, the peer device may obtain the selected media presentation from a subscription based service enabling streaming or download of the selected media presentation, an e-commerce service enabling purchase and download of the selected media presentation, or another peer device.

    摘要: In a remotely piloted surface vehicle a television camera is used to send images to a screen on the operator's station. A computer displays the vehicle's intended path on the screen. The path appears as a computer-generated line superimposed on the image of the vehicle's environment, like a stripe painted on the ground. The operator can change or advance the path on the screen with a cursor control. A computer picks certain discrete screen points along the line and maps those screen positions onto ground positions called "waypoints". These are sent to the vehicle's guidance system to direct the vehicle along a path through the waypoints. The transform which maps the screen path onto the ground path depends on the camera orientation and lens. The transform parameters can be adjusted as the camera zooms, pans and tilts. Each time the screen is refreshed, the path line for that screen is calculated by the computer from the ground path, to present the ground path correctly in the new screen. The operator can extend or modify the path at will. The system is especially adapted to use in cases where a narrow bandwidth of the radio link between the camera and the station limits the screen refresh rate. The system maximizes the possible speed of the vehicle by presenting the path information in a format quickly grasped by the operator.

    摘要: Transmitter are receiver systems are disclosed including an encoder and a decorder, respectively. The encoder samples an incoming analog video signal and operates a periodic bipolar pulse pair whose phase separation is proportional to the amplitudes of the sampled data, thus pulse position modulation (PPM). In one embodiment of the invention the coded in-phase pulses are applied to a first channel having an intermediate frequency (IF) dispersive delay line with a positive-sloped transfer function. The out-of-phase pulses are applied to a second channel having a dispersive delay line with a negative-sloped, or conjugate, transfer function. The two channels of positive and negative dispersed pulses are added together resulting in a complex IF waveform. The complex IF waveform is frequency translated to a suitable time varying DC voltage waveform for controlling a transmitter. The receiver system includes a decoder having first and second channels with respective first and second conjugate pulse compression lines or chirp filters for recovering the original bipolar coded data. The first pulse compression line, with a negative-shaped transfer function recovers the in-phase PPM pulses of the bipolar pulse pair. The second pulse compression line, having the conjungate slope, recovers the out-of-phase PPM of the bipolar pulse pair pulses. The PPM pulses in the first and second channels are translated into pulse-width modulated pulses which are then demodulated. The demodulated pulses are subtracted and the original data is recovered while at the same time the sampling frequency is filtered out.
