Abstract: First and second parts of an optical component may be spatially separated and not electrically connected. A passive side may contain an optical element. An active side may contain a light-emitting device. To detect damage to the optical element, passive side circuitry that is associated with the optical element may monitor a fail-safe resistor on the optical element for changes in resistance. The circuitry may use a passive side near-field communications antenna to transmit information such as information on the fail-safe resistor to active side circuitry that is associated with the light-emitting device using near-field communications. The active side circuitry can receive the transmitted information using an active side near-field communications antenna and can adjust the light-emitting device accordingly. The active side circuitry can also monitor the active side near-field communications antenna to detect when the passive side and active side antennas have been moved apart.

Abstract: This application describes a phased approach to provision eSIM profiles to a wireless device. Credentials are preloaded to an eUICC during manufacture of the eUICC and used subsequently to load eSIM profiles to the eUICC without requiring an active, real-time connection to an MNO provisioning server. Multiple bound profile packages (BPPs) can be pre-generated and encrypted by MNO provisioning servers for an eUICC and transferred to a BPP aggregator server before assembly of the eUICC in a respective wireless device. A local provisioning server in a manufacturing facility mutually authenticates and connects to the BPP aggregator server to download and store one or more of the encrypted BPPs for later installation on the eUICC. The local provisioning server subsequently mutually authenticates and connects to the eUICC to load at least one of the one or more pre-generated, encrypted BPPs to the eUICC during assembly and/or testing of the wireless device.

Abstract: Improved configured grants (CGs) may include the designation of a footprint corresponding to uplink transmission of a UE, with the footprint at least partially defined by the occupied transmission time, occupied transmission frequency, and transmission power. The footprint may be adjustable and/or selectable by the UE according to the current traffic needs of the UE and within limits set for the footprint via prior signaling from the base station to the UE. The UE may indicate the actual footprint parameters/values for the UE's uplink data transmissions by transmitting CG uplink control information (CG-UCI) inclusive of the actual footprint values to the base station. The UE may transmit the CG-UCI over resources configured according to additional parameter values received via the prior signaling from the base station. The UE may further transmit uplink data on resources configured according to the actual footprint values.

Abstract: A light source module includes an array of illumination elements and an optional projecting lens. The light source module is configured to receive or generate a control signal for adjusting different ones of the illumination elements to control a light field emitted from the light source module. In some embodiments, the light source module is also configured to adjust the projecting lens responsive to objects in an illuminated scene and a field of view of an imaging device. A controller for a light source module may determine a light field pattern based on various parameters including a field of view of an imaging device, an illumination sensitivity model of the imaging device, depth, ambient illumination and reflectivity of objects, configured illumination priorities including ambient preservation, background illumination and direct/indirect lighting balance, and so forth.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for application function (AF) key generation and AF key renewal. A user equipment device (UE) may communicate with an application function (AF) via a radio access network (RAN) using a first AF key and determine that the first AF key has expired. The UE may derive a second AF key based on at least an Architecture for Authentication and Key Management for Applications (AKMA) anchor key (KAKMA) and a counter parameter and communicate with the AF via the RAN using the second AF key. At least one of the UE, the AF, and/or an AKMA Anchor Function (AAnF) may be configured to monitor expiration of the first AF key based on an associated lifetime of the first AF key. The first and second AF keys may be derived using a key derivation function that includes at least one variable parameter.

Abstract: An electronic device may include a display. Control circuitry may operate the display at different frame rates such as 60 Hz, 80 Hz, and 120 Hz. The control circuitry may determine which frame rate to use based on a speed of animation on the display and based on a type of animation on the display. To mitigate the appearance of judder as the display frame rate changes, the control circuitry may implement techniques such as hysteresis (e.g., windows of tolerance around speed thresholds to ensure that the display frame rate does not change too frequently as a result of noise), speed thresholds that are based on a user perception study, consistent latency between touch input detection and corresponding display output across different frame rates (e.g., using a fixed touch scan rate that is independent of frame duration), and animation-specific speed thresholds for triggering frame rate changes.

Abstract: A System on Chip (SoC) includes a processor, a parity generation circuit, and a dispatcher circuit. The processor is configured to produce store instructions for storing data blocks in a Non-Volatile-Memory (NVM). The parity generation circuit is configured to calculate parity blocks over the data blocks in accordance with a redundant storage scheme, to send the parity blocks to the NVM, and to produce completion notifications with respect to the parity blocks. The dispatcher circuit is configured to dispatch the store instructions to the NVM. The processor is further configured to send one or more parity-barrier instructions that specify synchronization barriers over the store instructions and the parity, and the dispatcher circuit is configured to dispatch the store instructions to the NVM in compliance with the parity-barrier instructions and the completion notifications.
