    摘要: Provided are an electronic device to which vertical carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are applied and a method of manufacturing the same. The method of manufacturing an electronic device having a vertical CNT includes the steps of: (a) preparing a substrate on which a silicon source is formed; (b) forming a first insulating layer on the substrate, and etching the first insulating layer such that a top surface of the silicon source is exposed; (c) forming a second insulating layer on the silicon source, and forming a gate by patterning the second insulating layer; (d) forming a third insulating layer on the gate, and forming a through hole in which a carbon nanotube channel is to be formed by etching the third insulating layer and the second insulating layer; (e) forming a fourth insulating layer surrounding the gate on the through hole and the third insulating layer, and forming a spacer by etching the fourth insulating layer; (f) forming a metal catalyst on the silicon source; (g) vertically growing the carbon nanotube channel on the silicon source using the metal catalyst; (h) forming a fifth insulating layer on the through hole in which the carbon nanotube is formed and the third insulating layer; and (i) patterning the fifth insulating layer such that the carbon nanotube channel is exposed, and forming a silicon drain. An arrangement problem of horizontal CNTs can be solved by applying vertical CNTs and a selective silicon growth technique.

The FED includes: a cathode plate including a substrate, first and second thin film transistors (TFTs) that are serially connected on the substrate, a field emitter disposed on a drain electrode of the second TFT, a gate insulating layer having a gate hole surrounding the field emitter, and field emission gate electrodes disposed on the gate insulating layer; and an anode plate including a substrate, and red, green, and blue phosphors disposed on the substrate, wherein the cathode plate and the anode plate are vacuum-packaged parallel and opposite to each other. According to the present invention, uniformity of the FED panel can be significantly improved, and an inherent source-drain leakage current of the TFT can be significantly reduced, so that a contrast ratio of the FED can be significantly enhanced.

    摘要: A video image projection apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus uses a laser as a light source and modulates the light beam using a modulator according to an image signal. The apparatus projects the modulated light to a screen using a light scanning system. The laser display system includes three primary color laser light sources, an optical system needed for three-color light combining/separation, a light modulator loading the image signal into the three-color laser, and a driving circuit driving the system by processing the video signal electronically. A hybrid video laser color mixer has a structure that combines very small-sized hybrid light beam combining/separation optical elements and a 3-channel light modulator. It allows the size of the image projection apparatus to be about 6 by 5 by 3 centimeters. Additionally, the light alignment of the elements is close to self-alignment.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a vacuum device utilizing a sputtering process is disclosed. According to the present invention, the vacuum device includes a silicon substrate. An emission electrode having a sharp ended tip is formed by etching the silicon substrate. An insulating layer is formed on the silicon substrate so as to make the entire structure of the emission electrode to be exposed, with the emission electrode being surrounded by the insulating layer. A gate electrode is then formed adjacent to the sharp ended tip of the emission electrode. According to the present invention, it has advantages that the emission electrode is manufactured by forming the silicon pillar using the isotropic etching and anisotropic etching and the gate electrode can be easily formed adjacent to the emission electrode by using the sputtering method after the gate insulating layer is formed. Further, the distance between the emission electrode and the gate electrode may be easily adjusted, and the vacuum device may be operated with the desired voltage by controlling the distance between the emission electrode and the gate electrode of the vacuum device.
