Abstract:
The dispenser outlet (13) is microbiologically sealingly closeable by a valve stopple (25) which closes counter flow direction (11). Outlet 13 is manually reversely opened prior to the pump stroke against a spring (34). The medium reaches outlet (13) via throttles (22, 21, 49). Thus the medium creeps practically non-pressurized to an adhering face (51) of a droplet former (50). There the medium accumulates to a droplet suspending in the upside-down position. The medium contained in the dispenser (1) is effectively protected from germ contamination and the droplet may be simply administered to an eye or the like.
Abstract:
A device for dispensing of small volume comprises a pump associated with a container of the substance to be dispensed, the pump comprising: a hollow pump body; and a piston sliding inside said pump body in sealing contact with the pump body around a circular periphery of diameter D2; wherein the pump further includes: a push rod including a central channel in which a valve seat is formed, the push rod sliding in contact with the pump body around a circular periphery of diameter D1 less than D2; a punch secured to the piston and capable of bearing in sealed manner against the valve seat; and resilient means urging the piston against the valve seat.
Abstract:
An apparatus for applying medicament to an eye has an inner casing and an outer casing coupled to the inner casing and moveable relative thereto. An eyecup is supported on one end of the inner casing. The eyecup defines a surface shaped to conformably engage the facial tissue surrounding an eye. An ocular vial is supported within the inner casing. The ocular vial holds medicament for release into an eye. An eyelid displacing member is coupled to the outer casing and slideably mounted through the inner casing. The eyelid displacing member includes a depresser tab adapted to engage the facial tissue below an eye. The depresser tab engages the facial tissue upon moving the outer casing toward the inner casing, thus displacing the lower eyelid to expose the ocular cul-de-sac. A dispensing member is supported by the outer casing. The dispensing member is adapted to actuated the ocular vial upon moving the outer casing toward the inner casing, to release medicament onto the exposed ocular cul-de-sac of the eye.
Abstract:
A thrust piston pump for an active substance dispenser has two equiaxial, position-rigid, interconnected pistons running in the same direction, namely a pump piston passing in and out of an otherwise closed pump chamber and a larger presuction pistion located downstream thereof, in whose associated pressure chamber is located the pump chamber end opened by the passing out of the pump piston. This leads to a very accurate dosing of the discharged active substance quantity, accompanied by a simple construction and high operational reliability.
Abstract:
A vacuum-tight and pressure-tight closed storage space in a container is constructionally combined with a thrust piston pump projecting thereinto and a drag piston slidably guided therein and in the initial position of the thrust piston pump is hermetically sealed by an exhaust valve mechanically closed in forcibly controlled manner. The drag piston is adapted to the thrust piston pump in such a way that the storage space can be emptied substantially free with the thrust piston pump.
Abstract:
A liquid dispensing pump includes a one-piece piston capable of not only effecting a pumping operation but also an outlet valve opening and closing function upon limited relative axial movement. In one embodiment, the piston reciprocates and forms a valve seat for a container vent opening extending through a closure cap provided on the pump body, and in another embodiment, the pump cylinder reciprocates and forms a valve seat for opening and closing the container vent opening. The pump chamber defined by the cylinder has a valved inlet which may be formed by a sleeve depending from the piston and an upstanding conduit in the cylinder or may be formed by a ball check valve in the cylinder.
Abstract:
A vented pump and pre-loaded spring for dispensing liquid at a controlled rate from a container upon depression of a plunger or stem. A pump body extends within the container and houses the stem and piston. The lower end of the stem functions as an inlet valve. The piston is slidable on the stem between upper and lower stop limits and seals the outlet passage in the stem when the plunger is in a raised position. An initial downward movement of the plunger closes the inlet valve and then, after a slight build up of pressure within the pump chamber, moves the outlet passage downwardly of the piston into communication with the pump chamber below the piston. Continued downward motion of the stem moves the piston downwardly and expels the liquid through the outlet passage while maintaining a constant seal at the inlet valve. A sealing disc cooperates with the plunger or stem to prevent air from entering the container when the stem is in the raised position and to allow air to enter the container through a fluid vent passage formed between cooperating surfaces of the container, stem, disc and pump body when the stem is moved toward the down position. A variety of types of fluid vent passages are provided, such as, a plurality of rounded knurls on the outside surface of the pump body to assure an open fluid vent passage after the pump body is crimped to the container and provision is also made for use of a flange adaptor, with or without knurls, for non-crimping modes of constructing the pump assembly.
Abstract:
Dispenser (1) for the dosed dispensing of liquid media, with a container (3) for holding a liquid medium (4), a manually actuated pump (5), which is arranged on the container (3) and comprises a flood chamber (6) into which liquid medium (4) flows when the container (3) is turned over, for which purpose the flood chamber (6) is fluidically connected at the inlet end to an outlet opening (7) of the container (3), and a dosing piston (8), which is displaceable by an actuating stroke, is arranged in the flood chamber (6) and expels dosed medium (4), and a media channel (9) extending through the dosing piston (8) is widened at the inlet end as a volumetrically defined cylinder portion (10) into which a plunger piston (11) protruding into the flood chamber (6) engages as a pressure piston in order to expel medium (4) introduced by gravity into the cylinder portion (10) of the dosing piston (8).
