Abstract:
Adhesive articles, particularly useful as reusable closures, comprising a moisture resistant substrate and a removable adhesive covering at least a portion substrate surface, the adhesive having a Moist Loop Test result of at least about 25 N/25 mm at a test plate temperature of 5° C. The closure may also include a permanent adhesive covering another portion of the substrate surface. The adhesive articles provide easy application to packages and exhibit good adhesion performance in the presence of moisture, such as from refrigerated or frozen food packaging.
Abstract:
A fastener tab includes a tab substrate having a first side and a second side. A first adhesive region is applied to an installation portion of the first side and a second adhesive region is applied to a fastening portion of the first side. The first and second adhesive regions are configured to provide different adhesion characteristics. A disposable absorbent article includes at least one fastener tab and may also include release and attachment substrates that releasably retain the second adhesive region for storage and use, respectively.
Abstract:
Structured adhesive constructions are provided. The adhesive constructions comprise a layer of a first adhesive with a first property and a layer of a second adhesive with a second property. The layer of the first adhesive comprises a plurality of spaced apart stripes of adhesive, coated on or laminated to a facestock or release liner. The layer of the second adhesive comprises a plurality of spaced apart stripes of adhesive, coated on or laminated to the facestock or release liner and located between the plurality of stripes of the first adhesive. The use of two different adhesives enables manipulation of desired adhesive properties in a single adhesive construction. The resulting adhesive may have two or more different desired properties, such as adherence at both high and low temperatures, or initial repositionability followed by permanent adhesion, or other combinations of desired properties. A coating die and a method of coating structured adhesive constructions are also provided.
Abstract:
An adhesive tape for bonding components such as, for example, in a motor vehicle. The adhesive tape comprises a non-perforated or perforated metal layer having opposite first and second major sides, each of the first and second major sides having an adhesive layer defining an adhesive surface on the first and second major sides. The adhesive layer on the first and second major sides comprises domains of pressure sensitive adhesive and domains of an activatable adhesive composition. Each of the domains define a part of the surface of the adhesive layer. A method of adhering components of motor vehicles together. The method comprises (i) providing an adhesive tape between the components to be adhered together, the adhesive tape comprising opposite first and second major adhesive surface, each of the first and second major adhesive surface being defined by an adhesive layer that comprises domains of pressure sensitive adhesive and domains of an activatable adhesive composition, each of the domains defining a part of the surface of the adhesive layer; and (ii) cross-linking the domains of activatable adhesive composition.
Abstract:
Adhesive tape with a two-sided polyurethane foam backing, each side coated with two different adhesives in distinct segments, one adhesive having high initial bond strength and the other having high ultimate bond strength.
Abstract:
An article is disclosed that includes a first substrate, and an adhesive layer disposed between on the first substrate. The adhesive layer includes a first adhesive region having a first adhesive and a second adhesive region having a second adhesive. The first adhesive is different from the second adhesive. The first adhesive region forms indicia. Methods of making and using the article are also disclosed.

Abstract:
A label with enhanced proof against counterfeiting, comprising at least one carrier layer with an adhesive layer on its underside, wherein the adhesive layer is composed of a pressure sensitive and/or hotmelt adhesive and a heat-activatable (reactive) adhesive.

A continuous method of manufacturing adhesives is provided. The method includes obtaining an actinic radiation-polymerizable adhesive precursor composition disposed on a major surface of an actinic radiation-transparent substrate and irradiating a first portion of the actinic radiation-polymerizable adhesive precursor composition through the actinic radiation-transparent substrate for a first irradiation dosage. The method further includes moving the actinic radiation-transparent substrate and irradiating a second portion of the actinic radiation-polymerizable adhesive precursor composition through the actinic radiation-transparent substrate for a second irradiation dosage. Optionally, the method also includes irradiating a third portion of the actinic radiation-polymerizable adhesive precursor composition through the actinic radiation-transparent substrate prior to moving the substrate. The first irradiation dosage and the third irradiation dosage are often not the same, thereby forming an integral adhesive having a variable thickness in an axis normal to the actinic radiation-transparent substrate.
Abstract:
An adhesive film, a foldable display device using the same, and a method of manufacturing a foldable display device are provided. An adhesive film includes: a frame including a micro-truss structure, the micro-truss structure including a plurality of unit cells including a plurality of wires intersecting each other in a three-dimensional space, and an adhesive filling the frame.
