Abstract: An example apparatus to monitor media that is presented via a mobile device includes: an application monitor to determine when media presentation software is being executed by the mobile device; and a metering information collector to collect at least one of a signature or a code of the media presented by the media presentation software based on the media presentation software being executed by the mobile device.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems, articles of manufacture, and methods to identify and credit media using ratios of media characteristics are disclosed herein. Example apparatus to identify media include at least one memory, instructions, and at least one processor to execute the instructions to: determine a first ratio based on a first time interval and a second time interval of a monitored media signal; determine a second ratio based on the second time interval and a third time interval of the monitored media signal; generate a first ratio signature based on the first and second ratios; and initiate transmission of the first ratio signature to a recipient that is to compare the first signature with a second ratio signature to identify the media.

Abstract: Tools and techniques are provided for identifying, collecting, and processing music-related content within a radio broadcast environment. In one embodiment, a method is provided for processing music-related broadcast radio data. The method includes receiving a plurality of broadcast radio station signals; identifying each radio station signal as an analog signal or a digitally broadcast signal in response to the identified radio station signals; obtaining a broadcast sample from at least one of the radio stations; identifying at least one music-related information element missing from the broadcast sample; obtaining missing music-related information elements; updating a computer server with the obtained music-related information elements; and generating and communicating a music guide including the updated information to various user devices.

Abstract: A method comprising the steps of: receiving, from a user electronic device at a computer system, one or more extracted feature vectors that are compact representations of one or more video frames of a video displayed at the user device; identifying, at the computer system, one or more products related to the one or more video frames based at least in part on an approximate nearest neighbor search of an electronic database of reference feature vectors corresponding to one or more reference works that identifies any match within a threshold of at least one of the reference feature vectors to the one or more extracted feature vectors but does not guarantee to identify the closest match to the one or more extracted feature vectors; providing, by the computer system to the user electronic device, the identified one or more products along with action information associated with the identified one or more products, wherein the action information is related to an action to be performed at the user electronic device; receiving, at the computer system from the user electronic device, a selection of one of the identified one or more products; and providing, to the electronic device, machine readable instructions for performance of the action associated with the selected one of the identified one or more products.

Abstract: Example signature generation methods disclosed herein include transforming a block of signal samples from a time-domain representation to a frequency-domain representation including multiple frequency bands. Abstract: An example apparatus to generate media monitoring information includes a processor to collect a first data record corresponding to a first media presentation session, and collect a second data record corresponding to a second media presentation. The example apparatus also includes a memory in circuit with the processor, the memory to: store a first end timestamp in the first data record indicative of a first time at which the first media presentation session ended; store a second end timestamp in the second data record indicative of a second time at which the second media presentation session ended; and store the first end timestamp in the second data record.

Abstract: A method including the steps of: receiving, by a computer system including at least one computer, a first electronic media work uploaded from a first electronic device; extracting one or more features from the first electronic media work; linking the first electronic media work with a reference electronic media work identifier associated with a reference electronic media work to generate correlation information relating the first electronic media work with at least an action associated with the reference electronic media work identifier; storing the correlation information; receiving, from a second electronic device, a query related to the first electronic media work; correlating the query with action information related to an action to be performed based at least in part on the correlation information; generating machine-readable instructions based upon the action information; and providing the machine-readable instructions to the second electronic device to be used in performing the action.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture for using location information to manage spillover in an audience monitoring system are disclosed. An example method involves identifying a first location of a portable metering device at a first time based on a plurality of location coordinates received from a location information system. The example method also involves generating media monitoring information corresponding to a media signal received at the first time. Additionally, the example method involves identifying the media monitoring information as being associated with a spillover signal in response to determining that a media delivery device is not located at the first location of the portable metering device at the first time.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture for signature retrieval and matching for media monitoring are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a hash table populator to store hash keys of reference signatures included in a reference signature block associated with reference media in entries of a hash table, and store qualifier data in the entry of the hash table, the qualifier data including a timestamp, an offset, and an identifier associated with the reference signature of the hash key. The apparatus further including a block table populator to store a block table key corresponding to the reference signature block in the entry of a block table, the block table key including the timestamp and the identifier, and store the reference signature block, a preceding reference signature block and a subsequent reference signature block in the first entry of the block table. The apparatus further including a signature matcher to access the hash table and the block table to retrieve candidate reference signatures to compare with site signatures to identify the monitored media.
