    摘要: A tubular body comprises: rolled layers of prepreg formed of reinforcing fibers impregnated with synthetic resin, wherein a ratio of impregnation of synthetic resin contained in a skew fiber body layer on which fibers are arranged in a skew direction and also a ratio of impregnation of synthetic resin contained in an axial fiber body layer on which fibers are arranged in an axial direction are in a range from a value approximately not lower than 10 wt % to a value lower than 25 wt %, and a thin layer, the ratio of impregnation of synthetic resin of which is high, is provided between the skew fiber body layer and the axial fiber body layer. The specific strength and specific rigidity of the tubular body are high, and the tubular body is less susceptible to separation and damage of the fibers and layers even if an impact force is given to it.

    摘要: The invention relates as a whole to composite structures and methods of forming thereof and can be used in particular, in the manufacture of bodies and compartments of flying vehicles used in rocketry and aeronautics.A composite shell shaped as a body of revolution comprises a plurality of multilayer elements forming its structure consisting of a set of crisscrossing strips. Said strips are made of a plurality of fibers formed as a "skin-core" structure and impregnated with a thermoplastic or resilient-elastic binder. The fibers formed as a "skin-core" structure are produced by impregnating the fiber filaments with a thermosetting binder and curing it. Multilayer air-tight shells and multilayer shells of a rib-cellular structure can be produced from said strips (FIG. 1, FIG. 10).

The tubular fabric is formed by arranging a fusible yarn, such as Grilon (Registered Trade Mark), on the interior surface of the tube and melting said yarn to coat the interior surface.On cooling the melted yarn sets to form a durable lining which exhibits excellent resistance to penetration by underwires.The invention also relates to garments, such as bras, basques and swimming costumes, incorporating the tubular fabric of the invention.

    摘要: A heat protective sleeve for the protection of elongated members is disclosed, the sleeve having a first sheet of insulative material with an outer reflective layer. Oppositely disposed edges of the first sheet have means for joining the edges to a portion of the first sheet in overlapping relationship to form a tubular sleeve. A second insulative sheet is attached to the outer surface of the first sheet inward from the edges. The second sheet also has a reflective layer on its outer surface and is attached to the first sheet along its edges, parallel to the edges of the first sheet, thus, forming an air pocket between the sheets. A stiff monofilament wire bent into a spiral or other shape is disposed within the air pocket to maintain the pocket shape. In use, the air pocket is positioned facing a heat source and the sleeve interposes a reflective layer, an insulating layer, an air pocket, a second reflective layer and a second insulating layer between the elongated members and the heat source.

    摘要: A biaxial braided sleeve braided together in a diamond braid style. The braided sleeve has an outer layer or set of thick, uncrimped strands extending in one helical direction and an inner layer or set of thick, uncrimped strands extending in the other helical direction. Much thinner containment strands hold the thick strands in position. A braided sleeve is thus provided which can have one material on the outside and a different material on the inside. For example, the inside material can be fluorocarbon polymer and the outside material can be fiberglass, providing a bearing liner. The two counter-rotating sets or layers of thick uncrimped strands provide enhanced mechanical properties.
