摘要: An assembly of pots for raising and transplanting seedlings. A plurality of cylindrical pots are made of paper and each pot is connected by a connection member into a continuous form. The connection member includes slits for allowing the spacing between adjacent pots to be elongated to a length corresponding to one intrarow spacing for various kinds of plants. The generally H-shaped or generally U-shaped slits can be vertically and alternatively provided from upper and lower edges of the connection member.

摘要: A medium for enhancing growth and availability of water during a mushroom life cycle, comprising a synthetic resin and a casing material, the resin consisting essentially of a substantially-linear water-soluble polymer capable of forming a water absorbing network within the casing material, such that the polymer is dispersed within the casing material upon exposure to water and retains water for mycelia to mushroom growth progression. Use of polyacrylamides benefits growth by retaining water, reducing evaporation loss, improving yields, and increasing product distribution into larger size ranges.

摘要: An apparatus for use in transplanting seedlings between propagation containers. More particularly the apparatus of this invention is intended to enable the transfer of seedlings from a chain of connected cells in which the seedlings have been grown for a period of time to a larger cell chain or other container. The apparatus includes a means to move said cells along a first and second predetermined path, and a first and second plant delivery path extending transversely to said first and second predetermined path. The apparatus includes a means lift seedlings from cells on said first path and to deliver them to cells moving along said second path into a prepared planting position.

摘要: Decay-resistant paper suitable for the manufacture of a pot for raising and transplanting seedling is the one partly containing decayable portions, which is prepared by heating paper made of a natural fiber, or a fiber blend composed of a natural fiber and a synthetic fiber, and impregnated with a compound capable of crosslinking the paper cellulose, at a temperature causing the reaction of antidecay treatment and at a temperature causing no such reaction in different portions. Such decay-resistant paper partly containing decayable portions can be easily prepared by bringing the above-mentioned paper impregnated with a compound capable of crosslinking the paper cellulose into contact in a single step with a heating apparatus comprising a heating part of a temperature causing the reaction of antidecay treatment and a heating part of a temperature causing no such reaction. As such a heating apparatus, may be used the one in which a rotary roll heater or a press-type heating plate is coated with a jacket having openings which is made of a material such as iron, copper and aluminum.

摘要: A gathered planting net for the cultivation of flower bulbs, especially tulips, narcissi and such, has a carrier lying flat in the transport state and a tubular net provided thereon. The tubular net is held on the carrier with at least one closing band, where the closing band penetrates the interior of the tubular net and of the carrier in the direction of an axis of the tubular net and also extends over the outside of the tubular net. The carrier includes a ring-shaped cutting of cardboard, carton or the like. It has folds parallel to the direction of the axis of the tubular net for the defined setting up of the carrier with the tubular net provided thereon and for mounting the carrier in the opened state onto the net carrier of the planting machine.

摘要: A soil block for pot plant cultivation having a water-retentive layer, a hydrophobic layer above it, and a soil layer above that is provided. The water-retentive layer may consist of a sand layer, a water layer or a sand layer retaining water. The hydrophobic layer may consist of hydrophobic particles which are sand and/or dirt particles treated with a water-repellent agent, a water-repellent membrane including nonwoven fabric, woven fabric or knitted fabric treated with a water-repellent agent, or such. According to the method of cultivating pot plants, the pot plants are planted in the soil layer, which is the upper layer in the soil block for pot plant cultivation, and water is supplied to maintain the water content in the water-retentive layer at a constant level.

摘要: A growth medium that is capable of supporting plant life includes a water retention component and soil. The water retention component can be a water retaining grain polish, bran or cut, short mineral wool fibers. A method of making the growth medium includes the steps of providing the water retention component and the soil, applying the water retention component to the soil and admixing the water retention component into the soil to distribute the water retention material within the soil to improve the water retaining capabilities of the soil. Vegetation matter, especially when mixed with animal excrement, will also contribute to the water retention property of the growth medium in addition to its slow release nutrient.
